I don't, hopefully they all get fired.

Re:Advocacy groups are pushing the FTC to break up Facebook on Thursday January 24, 2019 @01:43PM (#18991587)
Break up Google while you're at it.
Exit nodes aren't the killer feature of Tor anymore, everyone blocks those easily, it's hidden services.

can't even talk about marijuana without constant deflection to alcohol and the war on drugs
Re:Firefox shows ads for Booking.com in New Tab page on Tuesday January 01, 2019 @01:37PM (#18801513)
IIRC their Yahoo deal runs out in 2020, they'll be in trouble after that.
Re:Patreon Bars Anti-Feminist for Racist Speech, Inciting Revolt on Wednesday December 26, 2018 @02:01PM (#18763959)
Seems like many went to SubscribeStar, more because Patreon pulled a Tumblr and purged the adult content than political reasons.
This stuff lives in old water heaters right? It could've happened any time, but if you're using a neti pot you probably have a cold and are already susceptible to infection.
>The correct response is not to try to advertise...

Never going to happen, they say marketers ruin everything for a reason.

Re:Tumblr will ban all adult content on December 17th on Monday December 03, 2018 @02:19PM (#18591949)
It's predictable that Internet companies stop being benevolent when their growth has ended, everyone will move elsewhere and it'll happen again in a few years.
Re:Tumblr will ban all adult content on December 17th on Monday December 03, 2018 @01:52PM (#18591687)
I still haven't figured out how this works, Tumblr smashes the page to 1/3 the screen and displays stuff I don't care about in the center 2/3.
Capitalism has failed.

Is that not a connection?

Preemptive self-defense, the Bush Doctrine of tolerance.

I'd also say in a healthy society you should be seeing a larger spectrum of ideas and more things you disagree with.
Re:Peter Thiel Pledges to Support Trump’s 2020 Campaign on Friday November 02, 2018 @11:47AM (#18363861)
I assume his opponents will wait until 2024, he won't lose with a strong economy.
WeakAuras also had an import/export feature that was widely abused in a similar way.

I'm not familiar with the ICE dog-whistle, what are they culpable for?
Re:Words Matter – Moving Beyond “Meritocracy” on Monday October 08, 2018 @10:56AM (#18168022)
Linux has a meritocracy of patches not people, Reddit was the great meritocracy, unfortunately Reddit played the game and Linus didn't.
I'd be curious who made those two or if it was themselves.

Re:What Is the Point of Mozilla? on Friday September 21, 2018 @05:47PM (#18042907)
The Mac/Linux Firefox ports have never been good, their success was unearned and they were quickly replaced when a competitor came along.
Re:What Is the Point of Mozilla? on Friday September 21, 2018 @02:11PM (#18041547)
Mozilla lost because they sat on their butts for 10 years under Eich and lost their technical advantage. Firefox got sandbox and multi-process features in 2016 that IE8 had in 2009, they were happy to crash and lose every Pwn2Own before that. Being semi-nonprofit they can't secure any talent so they fake being like Google by blowing money on social activism and rebranding when they're not siphoning it to buy each other's start-ups.
Re:Terry Davis has died on Tuesday September 04, 2018 @05:08PM (#17912820)
It's still strange, doesn't the death rumor predate the website being updated?
Re:Inside the Trump Administration’s Secret War on Weed on Friday August 31, 2018 @11:31AM (#17886354)
It may be the lesser of two evils, but weed is not a good thing.
How is something made of plant matter and paper not biodegradable anyway?
Re:BBC websites blocked in China after security change on Thursday August 09, 2018 @03:19PM (#17727517)
You don't have to look outside the UK for that.
