I have no idea if it makes a difference in reference to the study, but plant based diets are significantly more common there.

The picture is much clearer when you accept that they are never jokes.

"They're trolling" is simply a juvenile defense that provides the cult and its members with plausible deniability.

The world might be slightly better off if we'd all taken them seriously from the start, but taking clowns and the accompanying circus seriously is unintuitive to most.

That's an incredibly generous take. If I'd pulled a fraction of the shenanigans prominent companies have to obtain data I'd be thrown under a prison to the thunderous applause of those who have, and are, doing much worse.

Taking issue with accountability is a long lived American tradition enjoyed predominantly by those with wealth/power.
Implying that this administration and its sycophantic accomplices act in good faith is itself a bad faith argument.

I do.

Until the incoming administration declares that safely storing nuclear waste is woke and allows their close friends or maybe even their own companies to just dump it in a desert at a premium because the bible never mentions the associated hazards.

Or it says facility inspections cause autism and transgenderism so they have to deregulate for their pals.

Or that nuclear safety itself is a symptom of low testosterone and turns the frogs gay.

...

This supports my initial reply. This was an f2fs bug in a bleeding edge kernel released only seven days earlier. The thread suggests perfectly reasonable mitigations, especially for an arch user: use the lts kernel or downgrade to 6.8.9.

If you're not familiar with linux and/or don't want to deal with trivial issues periodically, don't hang out at the bleeding edge. There are plenty of boring and/or beginner friendly choices out there.

I'm not saying linux is perfect, but your conclusions in this instance appear to be uninformed rather than supported by the facts.

Why have you linked a bug report for a niche userland application that may be causing disk corruption as evidence against linux reliability? That seems like a pretty uninformed conclusion.

While I don't disagree with some of the pain you describe, you conveniently gloss over the fact that gnu developed a system that worked, and then made it free to everyone to consult and use.

The most pleasant is the one you're most familiar with. I still use gas with at&t syntax.
How dare those nasty, dirty, unemployed live their lives under likely desperate circumstance. They are so much worse than corrupt oligarchs pumping and dumping their way into the greed hall of fame.
Why even use `emacs` if you're not willing to learn the basics? There are plenty of alternatives that cater to that preference.
These are all trivial to implement?

`treesitter` grammars _are_ easy to install.

`eglot` is available OOTB, `lsp-mode` is easy to install and configure if you prefer.

`gptel` is easy to install and configure.

All the extra steps serve as some type of verification + data collection.

The devs know how to make the experience better, but they get paid to implement some mbas mining scheme.

The future is ok but mostly sucks.

`use-package` has pretty much simplified everything:

  ;; c
  (use-package c-mode
    :ensure nil
    :defer t
    :mode "\\.cu?\\'"
    :config (setq c-default-style "gnu"
                  c-basic-offset 2)
    :hook ((c-mode . lsp)
           (c-mode . bmacs-ide)))
Re:Matt Godbolt sold me on Rust by showing me C++ on Tuesday May 06, 2025 @04:37PM (#43909387)
There's a bit more nuance here than 'basic errors', and modern c compilers offer a lot of options _if you need to use them_.

I appreciate that there are guardrails in a tool like rust, I also appreciate that sharp tools like c exist, they both have advantages.

Additionally, `clang-tidy` catches this via `bugprone-narrowing-conversions` and your linter will alert if properly configured.

`gptel` supports perplexity, among many others.

Emacs has had multiple llm integration packages available for quite awhile (relative to the rise of llms). `gptel` supports multiple providers including anthropic, openai, ollama, etc.

The majority of vmware customers could get by with qemu/kvm + pacemaker/corosync, but that requires hiring people who can read a manpage.

Plant based diets are:

- more affordable

- better for the environment

- healthier

- avoid/reduce cruelty (livestock and human)

If you want to eat meat, fine, but the comment you replied to is innocuous and not "guilt-tripping" anyone.
