When I was young, public universities in Spain only evaluated the final exam. That was not a problem; it helped people become responsible. Nowadays, they have changed it to evaluate continuous homework, and students end up worse prepared.

For keep the brain working and sci-fi I recommend you "EVO - Padres" by Ignacio Fernandez Moreno, spanish only but easy to read with B2 level or upper. It's a science fiction novel exploring politics based in evolution in a far away planet.
Re:The internet discovers TLA+. Now what? on Sunday September 27, 2026 @05:48AM (#49865100)
I am learning TLA+ but I do not know CSP, is CSP better?
The logo is like the Go one, it confuses me.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Sunday September 13, 2026 @05:08PM (#49688711)
I am learning math logic and two languages to use it: TLA+ and Lean.
I understood that you was in the VSCode dev team.

"I left using VSCode to build an IDE ..." is a most honest claim.

It did not use Lean or other proof assistant?

Mal, el inglés permite la comunicación entre informáticos a nivel internacional.
Re:Generative AI Vegetarianism on Tuesday April 28, 2026 @02:28AM (#47931042)
The majority of humans are not slop-free.

We compare AI to high-performance humans, but the average human is not better at many tasks than AI is.

Re:Do Architects Still Need to Draw? (2020) on Thursday March 26, 2026 @03:20AM (#47527538)
My dad was an old-school architect. When AutoCAD replaced the drafting table—the ink, the ruler, the set square, the protractor—he thought it was crap, because now any total hack at drawing could do it.

For me, on the other hand, AutoCAD was amazing, because with AutoLISP you could draw with words. And now, with the LLM boom, I finally get him.

The Copilot-Cli is not so bad,

Communism is the alternative ideology.
Re:You Need to Ditch VS Code on Tuesday December 30, 2025 @08:06AM (#46432962)
I follow using Emacs, but for debug and AI.

Using both is not so bad.

Re:If AI replaces workers, should it also pay taxes? on Monday December 15, 2025 @05:26AM (#46272631)
Reduce human working hours.
Re:Why we built Lightpanda in Zig on Friday December 05, 2025 @03:01PM (#46166509)
What are you developing in?
That is because of the neoliberal ideology. When the ideology changes, workers will be the primary beneficiaries.
Re:Intelligent Kubernetes Load Balancing at Databricks on Wednesday October 01, 2025 @02:25AM (#45434896)
What is the difference between Kuberesolver and using a Headless Service?

In the README.md file, they compare it with a ClusterIP service, but not with a Headless on "ClusterIP: None".

The advantages of using Kuberesolver are that you do not need to change DNS refresh and cache settings. However, I think this is preferable to the application calling the Kubernetes API.

Re:Nova: A New Web Framework for Erlang on Thursday July 31, 2025 @10:02AM (#44745762)
Why do you use Erlang instead of Elixir?
Regarding AI, I don't have a replacement, but for code/text navigation, eglot is a good option.

I think that the AI CLI agents are the response for AI, but for now, I am opening VSCode with an Emacs extension and some keybinding changes.

Re:Reverse Proxy Deep Dive on Saturday July 12, 2025 @03:43AM (#44540132)
Nowadays, "reverse" is suppressed in most ways. I have heard that Nginx is a proxy more often than a reverse proxy.
Is it not 25 min too short for a focus period? I listen to Andrew Haberman that 90 min is the time you maintain focus.
Re:Context Engineering for Agents on Friday July 04, 2025 @01:32AM (#44461395)
To provide context, I utilize the memory-bank pattern with GitHub Copilot Agent, but I believe I'm wasting a significant number of tokens.
Re:LLMs as Compilers on Thursday July 03, 2025 @02:19AM (#44452167)
But this is a waste of resources. LLM should be generated in a higher-level language and then compiled.
But, old people, who have taken coffee have good mental health, contrary to alcohol drinkers.
And AI.
Re:The AI jobs crisis is here, now on Monday May 12, 2025 @07:48AM (#43961960)
"No one owes anyone a job"

A job no, but an income.

The humanity does not need to be more productive, we have enough of all, products and services.

What we need is reduce the working time and dedicate the time to flourish, read, write, music, sports, maths, philosophy... Less consuming and more creating.

Re:Taking Notes with Joplin on Monday April 21, 2025 @07:01AM (#43750491)
Org-mode is the way for Emacs users.
But GoG saids to use composition over inheritance
Re:Sketch-of-Thought: Efficient LLM Reasoning on Sunday March 16, 2025 @02:19PM (#43380987)
It is interesting for an old and classic software developer to see how the LLMs are taught/programmed. They use markdown files:
