You are claiming a lot of absolutes in this. I attended college to expand my mind, learn new things, and mature into an adult. I went to a large but reasonably prices state school and did everything you said no one does. I don't even use my degree but going through thought me a lot of lessons I still use (working well with people I don't know, learning things quickly and applying them, making new friends). I, and I bet a lot of others, learned and grew a lot during University with out the notion of finding a career.

Well now it is time to delete my LinkedIn account. There terms and services say that would not allow people to steal my information and that my information is my own. I have never agreed for my info to be resold by HiQ. Now that it is illegal for LinkedIn to protect me from HiQ's theft the only option I have is to drop LinkedIn.

This assumes we all follow the same scale. A Camry could be the best car for me because I want a car that cost little money and will continue to work for years with little up keep. Where as the Ferrari may be the best for you because price is not a limit and maintenance is a non issue. In both cases we got the best car for us.
