That's the way things have to go. Business risk is too high having everything ran over exposed networks.

I dunno. I just learned what 'mogged' means 2 days ago. So probably not far.

This isn't only reflected in educational standards. I've seen a ton more restrictions in traffic and speed limits in more affluent areas, and higher/less blatant enforcement in poorer areas, even when the poorer areas are more populated with children.
Re:How much revenue is needed to justify the current AI spend?

I think the ai angle for warfare is overhyped. Most of the autonomous drone stuff happening in Ukraine is not running on bleeding edge nodes. It's radxa sbcs with process nodes from 10 years ago.

A chief source of management missteps I've seen is not talking to people and just making consequential decisions because they think a jira board gives them insight.

This is true. Skepticism can keep you free from mlm scams, but that same trait will keep you from buying bitcoin when it's at .0001 cents.
Re:Airbrush art of the 80s was Chrome-tastic (2015)
on Thursday August 14, 2025 @09:35PM (#44907705)
That's a complaint I have about 80s music. So perfectly synthesized, it's fake. That's why I like 70s guitar and drums over 80s. Humans make artistic mistakes; it adds character.
That's cap. 'Ir' is usually used in the english language to denote the negative of the following property that follows it, e.g. irrespective meaning not respective. Regardless alone signals the negative assertion of the following property, so a prepending of 'ir' before it connotes a not-not, a double negative, and against the context of what is trying to be communicated. Having a problem with this abuse of language/meaning/communication is to be expected.
Irregardless of this, what's your take on irregardless?

Re:A.I. Researchers Are Negotiating $250M Pay Packages
on Sunday August 03, 2025 @09:19AM (#44776396)
I take that more as a rumination on the futility of vanity and self-aggrandizing rather than "ruling the world " which in the modern day comes down to politics. Yes, there is considerable overlap with ego, but there's more to that topic than pure self-worship.
