I didn't bother reading the article because of that.
Big Enterprise won the kernel wars. After Balmer freaking out and paying a hit piece calling "Linux a cancer", everyone managed to work around GPL and be able to inject non-free parts in the kernel. Linux compromised with the "tainted kernel" and later just gave up. Result: Android is a linux, and is the most closed source system on earth. Thousands of people throw away perfectly good android phones just because the owner of the source code refuses to release a update.
Linux lost. Well, at least the spirit of it.
Advertising is not about the Seller of the product and the Publisher of the content. Oh no.
The money in advertisement is the hundreds of companies that prey on each other all the way connecting seller and publisher. Because nobody trust anybody in advertisement. There's traffic validate. Click validation. Sales attribution. Sales attribution validation. MRC Accreditation for the sales attribution validation. etc. etc. etc.
...countdown to downvotes and replies asking for source for something that is easy to find online.

My bet is that messing with voltages on those chips too will expose all sorts of exploits too.
you all created a 10 message deep thread for something that not only is common knowledge, but a quick search of the only 3 keywords involved will return articles by BBC, forbes, tech venues, etc.
sigh.
Either outright commits by at-google email addresses, or things like summer of code. All to play catch up with the features they shove on chrome.
