I think that's more just a product of them not reading the instructions.

The bigger issue with moderation as exemplified by the comments is it's very easy to come up with posts that skirt the law.
Nothing saying you can't influence just not improperly.
Re:The Best Monopoly Strategy, Tested on 300M Games [video] on Saturday October 24, 2026 @02:54AM (#50218868)
It'd be interesting if the strategy would change without the auction rule. I don't think I've ever played with that.

It for whitehat third parties who discover unprotected keys obviously people intentionally stealing keys will not revoke them generally.
Re:Lobbying on Saturday October 10, 2026 @01:12AM (#50029769)
Lobbying is definitely not an exclusive American thing.

Lobbying is also different to bribery even if some bribery is done under the label of lobbying.

For 1 Australia just spent ten years in that world before it was reverted because of the prevalence of card surcharges everywhere.
Why should HN be allowed to have rules on what content is allowed to be posted? People are of course free to not post.
AWS and similar already have service quotas that cap these.
We aren't talking about a calculator web service though we are talking about the Linux kernel and if there's a bug in the kernel that could conceivably cause a crash in an otherwise correctly written application then that would be a CVE in the kernel.
It's not hard to imagine an application for which 1+1 = 3 leads to security issue.
Let's say they do and only 5% are "security issues" you still need to update either way.
How has conservative changed?
Re:Uber arbitration award over Emily Normandin-Parker's death on Monday September 21, 2026 @10:55AM (#49788102)
It sounds like they didn't agree to that but anyone can propose a settlement.
I don't think they are disputing it was blocked more the reason was copyright not other reasons.

Blackhat markets will always be able to pay better. Selling to Google though you aren't chancing jail time.
Re:GLM 5.2 and the coming AI margin collapse on Tuesday July 07, 2026 @06:39AM (#48815956)
I don't think they are saying it's trivial but compare say for example switching an organisation from Office or Windows the example that started this. They are not even in the same ballpark.

I read this they would build the patches privately (or with maintainers if confidential) and then share amongst their supporters before public release.

Arch does exactly what Debian for the official repos. It was only the AUR that was compromised. Possibly the issue is that Arch is a bit to strict for the official repos which has forced too many people on to the AUR ones.

The AI can't actually tell if you are trying to patch your own system or exploit others.

It seems to use DHT under the hood whether directly or through a relay. https://pkdns.net/ .
Re:Yserver: A modern X11 server written in Rust on Sunday June 14, 2026 @06:02PM (#48533291)
You would have a lot of security issues right? Whether or not it's useful Wayland does prevent to isolate clients from each other.
This ruling was about search clearly, however, there's definitely ways implications for chatbots too.
Google does remove defamatory results I believe at least partially in response to being sued. However there is a distinction if they have been informed it is defamatory.
In this case it looks like they were notified and didn't do anything.
AI can still have a massive impact while these three companies go nowhere.

Same as the dotcom and same as the railroads.

Dividends are absolutely not price neutral however most feeds correct for them.
Not at all since the company is also +80bn cash.
More like if these funds have an issue with the management structure they should just not buy the shares.
None of those are really unsolvable problems. I think though the issue it seems everyone in this thread is having is you can't wrap a non idempotent function to make it idempotent no matter how hard you try you have to design your system around it.
