Fasting for weight loss is a bad idea. Unless you truly enjoy the process (you wouldn’t be overweight/obese if you did), it is a temporary measure that does nothing for poor food habits outside dieting.
Autoresearch is crazy good! Closest thing to “Make this app fast!” we have now.
Gotta say: I love how mobile app works on my 13 years old Nexus 7 (2GB RAM). It was the sole reason I choose it, actually - other PWAs are too much for the little guy.
I am really hoping this to be merged soon: https://github.com/getpaseo/paseo/pull/1296
Maybe the crew member could had landed the Helios plane, but by that time everyone on board were already dead. Still, kudos to the guy for fighting tooth and nail till the very end in this impossible situation.
“Make no mistakes” and it’s a few days of work…
Not written in Rust? Instant pass!
> usage is actually getting monitored and performance appraisals have now started depending on the AI usage
This is one of the easiest statistic to game. AI is master BS generator, just give it shitty prompts and toss away the code.
> What really shocks me is how few of the big distros make KDE a default or "first class" DE choice.
There’s a reason for that: KDE has more irregular release schedule than GNOME. KDE folks are working on that, so expect situation to change.
Same here! I don’t have a problem with people having different opinions than mine, but when they start banning core contributors for that, it’s just a matter of time before ship goes down. I kind of hoped I was wrong and after all this time the dust settled - not because I was going to use it again, but because the project is a very cool idea.
I keep wondering why NixOS and few exotic distributions are the only ones that offer declarative configurations. Something like Ansible, but more like Nix.
But Microsoft Clippy is also technically in feature freeze
If you go to r/worldpolitics, you’ll get how that subreddit got its name. NSFW
The general idea is to restore that order, and decouple from China. The problem is such things will require serious leadership, not mafia style extortion.
Speculation: maybe abusive comments were later removed by mods?
What I love about NixOS is the ability to configure my entire system in one place. What I hate is the Nix language itself - you’ll get used to it, but only because you have no other real choice.
If it wasn’t for your edit, I would assume you are sarcastic too!
Funny how nobody talks about the aftermath of switching to “main” - did it achieve its original goal? No papers written on it, no researches. Like nobody wants to admit how stupid it was to push for it and insult those who resist it (which ironically achieved the opposite goal of making things more toxic instead of “inclusive”).
Hetzner’s Nextcloud instance.
Since Nextcloud supports all *DAV protocols I care, it’s easy to sync it with my iPhone without being tied to Apple’s ecosystem. Todos, calendars, contacts, notes. I hate Nextcloud’s web interface, but it’s bearable.
At my company I started building an app to do api calls to our own api. It’s basically specialised version of Insomnia/Postman, because BOTH of them managed to screw my configuration. And you are right: it’s nothing insanely hard. Granted - a more general purpose version would be a bit more tricky due to the need of handling special cases, but it is nothing too difficult.
Firefox? Some sites are piss-poor optimised for Chrome only.
“Please sign in to view plans”
Theory: Screen lock was briefly broken few months ago. Maybe OP tested KDE during that time.
> The Ukrainians are inflicting heavy losses on the Russian side (including Wagner mercenaries) without taking losses that are nearly as heavy.
Have in mind that
1) These numbers are unreliable (although most likely in Ukrainian’s favour)
2) Numbers are not equal: 10 poorly trained Russian soldiers are not comparable to 1 elite Ukrainian sniper
Not just “rattling out”, often you had a quota as well.
Convenience is key here: play a game for 30-ish minutes, put it to sleep, pick it up the next day and you are right back where you left it. I think Steam Deck is actually more unsuitable for people who play games all the time.
Don’t you guys have phones?!
I had some ideas about how one can run a free speech social media without actual or shadow banning and without letting “problematic” accounts disturbing others. I think my ideas completely died around level 13. I mean I can make them work to fit the extra requirements, but it will be just a game of whack-a-mole where some other powerful entity dictates the rules for you. Welcome to hell…
