Re:Remove and Disable Apple Macos27 AI Models Tool on Sunday October 04, 2026 @07:22PM (#49958981)
This is why I rip out spotlight on my mac and replace it with FZF
Re:Remove and Disable Apple Macos27 AI Models Tool on Sunday October 04, 2026 @07:21PM (#49958974)
I never asked for it, I had to disable it

Apple's AI and harnesses are trash and a complete waste of space

Also suggesting that sacrificing 1/20 of your disk space is NBD is crazy. I have to prune space on my drive all the time because macs ship with the least amount of disk space that apple imagines they can get away with as possible.

Looks like you saw the word ID and went off. OP never called it an ID system
> Being pedantically correct would ruin the intended rhetorical point of reversing the standard phrase, though

Maybe it's a sign

That's a lot of words to explain a simple concept
Very astute observation. Might I even add, as humans we never know when our last day could be. So I find it silly to gamble, since I could easily die in a car accident on my way to pick up my winnings.
> You have to stuck with an OS that sucks, while in the PC market you have plenty of OS choices, Windows, a million of Linux distributions

Windows is 10x more enshittified than OSX

> An Apple machine is basically throw away: no component inside can be upgraded, you need more RAM? Throw it away and buy a new one.

Tell that to all the people rocking 5-10 year old macbook that still run great

Germany?

"Everything that can be invented has been invented"

Ah my favorite, entirely made up quote.

Apocraphyly attributed to the U.S. Patent Office Commissioner in 1899.

This is apocraphyl :(

Undefeated when they break into your home

Insufficient granularity of data
Shame on you
Re:Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros on Tuesday December 09, 2025 @12:02PM (#46207378)
Probably a bit, at least some execs might want to have some cool shit on their resumes
Re:A New AI Winter Is Coming on Tuesday December 02, 2025 @10:56AM (#46122519)
Your response is crazy to me. Humans are known to be remarkably inconsistent in behavior. Please read ‘Thinking Fast and Slow’ or at least go back your HS psych 101 notes.

> Humans have the meta-cognitive abilities to understand when their abilities are insufficient or when they need to reinforce their own understanding

Two word reply: dunning kruger

Re:DOJ will push Google to sell off Chrome on Tuesday November 19, 2024 @01:24PM (#42186589)
I feel like this rhetorical question of yours was reductive enough to constitute B&W thinking

> So your argument is that Bell Labs should have never happened? It was a bad thing for humanity?

A person can appreciate the contributions of Bell Labs while still agreeing with the decision to ultimately have broken up the company.

I’m betting on waymo because they use lidar
Re:Post World War II Food on Thursday October 24, 2024 @03:16PM (#41938740)
Because processed foods are associated with many health complications.

Sources to back your theorem on the cause of obesity?

Re:Post World War II Food on Thursday October 24, 2024 @03:13PM (#41938711)
What? What would make you think that dehydrating a food would make it go bad quicker?
I believe that they can already solve novel problems. I can’t find a link but I’ve seen something where ai-skeptical researchers were surprised by chatgpt’s ability to solve certain problems that absolutely wouldn’t be in its dataset.

But of course LLMs can’t handle basic math

Re:ReMarkable launch Paper Pro, a colour e-ink tablet on Wednesday September 04, 2024 @06:33PM (#41451586)
Many of those projects are defunct, remarkable hacking is truly in a dark ace.
Re:ReMarkable launch Paper Pro, a colour e-ink tablet on Wednesday September 04, 2024 @06:30PM (#41451551)
The Google drive integration is completely different to the connect one.

It’s not automatic, it’s manual.

It works essentially in the same way that the ‘send to email’ feature works. Which means if you make a change to a file, you have to delete the file on gdrive and reupload it.

Re:Cautionary tale on using Chase bank for indie business on Friday August 23, 2024 @01:20PM (#41330916)
Not uncommon
> No, no one past middle school cares about the color of the bubble.

This is just objectively not true. The nature of green vs blue messages feeds into the in-group out-group dynamics that humans (children and adults alike) are prone to.

This is by design. This works well for apple.

Re:Inside Netflix's bet on advanced video encoding on Monday June 24, 2024 @03:02PM (#40779504)
Idiot directors? I was going to rebut your comment but on second read I’d rather just point out how dismissive and inflammatory your comment is.
Have you ever heard of lucid dreams?
Great point

Yeah, you can set a mark with ‘m’ and then go to it with the tilde key
