You disagree that keyle wants feedback?

That's literally all they said.

How can you disagree about what one individual says they themselves want?

I think people loved their products but hated their monopolistic pricing.
Wow. That's incredible!
Re:Why do shared hospital rooms not violate HIPAA? on Wednesday August 30, 2023 @06:34PM (#37330039)
> Any doctor's office just blindly asks you sign a HIPAA authorization release form.

You are incorrect. You are being asked to acknowledge that you received a copy of their privacy policies. You can decline and it doesn't change very much (if anything), because they will still document that they informed you of them... which they did.

It's understandable that people don't read what they're signing; I often don't have time, either. But you are posting about that form having not paid much attention to it, which is less common, in my experience.

It's the modern day slave trade.
This article has nothing to do with cancer, though.

A bionic pancreas won't help you at all if your native pancreas developed a malignancy.

I think that N++ is a one-programmer project.

Don Ho seems like a really cool guy.

I hope he is able to get the patch Incorporated, because it sounds like the security team provided one.

Thanks Don, for your work; and thanks Jaroslav, for the security discovery.

You have no idea what the reality is.

They are overworked and employed by mega corporations.

They are all miserable.

Talk to one.

The institution that controls the currency will always fight any alternative currency.

That's one big piece of the value proposition of Bitcoin: it is governed by user consensus, not political power.

OMG. I'm so sorry to see this news!

RIP zenhack

In my opinion saying "women support rape culture" in reference to the author approaches that high load. If I had said it, I would be worried about a slander suit: calling a person a supporter of rape culture seems like slander per se, unless the author has done something worse than work with an academic pariah.
Re:Microsoft Lost the API War on Friday August 18, 2023 @04:30PM (#37181681)
Yeah that's pretty important information!

It's fascinating, though, to read it from 2023 and judge how astute the observations were or weren't.

Re:The Plumber Problem on Friday August 18, 2023 @02:31PM (#37180057)
In the Matrix humanity is enslaved to use them as an energy source.

But the 2nd law of thermodynamics requires that any energy harvested would be, by definition, less than the energy of the food required to sustain their bodies.

Therefore the plot makes no sense, because they should just shovel the food directly into the computer and skip the humans.

Re:How to calculate how much water you should drink on Thursday August 17, 2023 @07:31PM (#37169703)
Yes. There is no medical basis for any amount of water above "what you're thirsty for".

Our thirst system is as precise and robust regarding water as our pancreas is for glucose.

It can't possibly be more optimal than estimating them correctly.

Re:$Home, Not So Sweet $Home on Thursday August 17, 2023 @06:24AM (#37159579)
Your criticisms of XDG are criticisms of the process used to build the solution, not the solution itself.

This is particularly strange in light of number 3, which basically says "I don't care about process; only the final result".

Twitter is playing games about turning over all the records requested by the government.

They are pretending that a database search for an IP address, for example, in two different tables is a big challenge and requires them to "make" the data because they don't have all the matching IP addresses pre-queried.

Twitter is likely doing this because musk is now in charge, and wants to help the criminal conspiracy by hiding and denying the legally requested evidence

It's an irrelevant distinction.

If the water went into the alfalfa and 100% of it evaporated, leaving bone-dry hay going to the middle east, then the hay is still the only remaining symbol of $13,000 worth of water you used to have, and sold for $1000.

Where the exact losses are within the industry is entirely unimportant.

I hate the idea of writing campaign details directly in your book, and buying a new book when the campaign ends.
Great points, but the word exonerated makes no sense in that context.
