This is precisely what CharaChorder is.

On my machine with a 1070, all were checked by default. I wonder if they are turned on based on something else.

Any tutorials or write-ups on how to achieve the blur on certain windows that you bring in? That seems really useful and I haven't seen it before.

Thanks for sharing your method!

All works fine for me here in Edge, odd.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)? on Thursday August 29, 2024 @07:53AM (#41389856)
Yes! DaVince Resolve 18 for me, it worked perfectly
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)? on Wednesday August 28, 2024 @04:10PM (#41383711)
Very cool!

I love this. In a quick test, I noticed the transcription missed on quite a few of my "filler" words that I might want to edit out, although it did get some of them.

It took me a little while to figure out how to "edit out" words.

EDIT: Turns out should I have read the instructions before uploading my video it would have been straight forward :D

Very cool, would be nice to choose a language setting
I must be in the minority. In the early days Teams had some pitfalls but for the most part, it's rather great. I don't understand what all the fuss is.

I regularly use both Teams and Google meet and don't find any significant differences that matter... so at the end of the day, use the one that is bundled with the rest of your software instead of having a different dependency.

So it is a subscription model? Not a one time purchase? This seems the opposite of transparent pricing

As a prospective customer (just canceled ChatGPT Plus because I didn't think I was actually using $20 worth), could you have an explanation on the page as to what a certain level of credits gets you?

Great read! Will you be sharing any of the code you settled on (with details redacted)? This seems like a useful thing for a lot of people!

FYI the ; broke the link, but I found it easily anyway.
Re:Groq runs Mixtral 8x7B-32k with 500 T/s on Monday February 19, 2024 @11:35AM (#39431701)
This is incredibly fast, indeed.

What are the current speeds in T/s for say ChatGPT 3.5 or ChatGPT 4? Just how much faster is this?

To try it I have to login, eesh. I wish that weren't the case.

I also wish the prices were per request or for a certain time period. This doesn't feel like something I need to subscribe to, rather it is something I need to use only when planning a trip and I'd be happy to pay a one time fee for that.

Pricing link doesn't seem to bring me anywhere.

Does the voice that it is replaced with mimic the same inflections etc? Or is it just transcribing then using something like elevenlabs to generate the audio and then syncs to the video?

As someone who is interested, but don't know where to start, is there a "recommended" translation to start from? That might be a useful addition to the site.
I know what Kanban and Linear are--would be cool to see an example public kanban created using this tool from the GitHub repo.
Looks interesting but is in desperate need of an explainer video or some GIFs or something to showcase what it is doing. I'm not going to go through all the trouble of downloading and connecting to my OpenAI api key/Obsidian library without having a better grasp of what exactly it is doing.
It's really hard to play on a desktop with two monitors, too.
Re:Terence Tao on GPT-4 on Wednesday April 12, 2023 @09:37AM (#35539443)
Yeah, I waited a good minute of it trying to load before I gave up.

Anyone that got in can share what it says?

I assume the one from the research page would work:

"You are a tutor that always responds in the Socratic style. You never give the student the answer, but always try to ask just the right question to help them learn to think for themselves. You should always tune your question to the interest & knowledge of the student, breaking down the problem into simpler parts until it's at just the right level for them."

From: https://openai.com/research/gpt-4

Going to have to keep this one on my list--signed up for the newsletter.

If it was available to ship now, I'd probably buy it immediately but the fact that it is pre-order makes me a bit nervous about the supply chain. Going to wait until it's caught up although I am in the market now and love this idea...

Maybe I'll just make a plan now for a standing desk and a boring old stool and try to implement the same idea into my current workflow

Looks heavily inspired by youneedabudget (YNAB). Accurate? I assume it is, since you offer an "import" from YNAB.

Did you start creating this after YNAB launched their higher prices or what was the impetus?

I have my doubts about there not being a dedicated app on the phone. The most important feature of YNAB is being able to easily add transactions and since you are going the route of no automated import, manual transaction adding from mobile will be CRITICAL to get perfect.

YNAB's solution is really, really good in that space. How does yours compare?

Any comparisons to https://www.typingclub.com/?
Ugh, you had me but then "Designed for MacOS." I would love to see this on Windows.
Any plans to support Facebook Pages app/Messenger?

I would love to upgrade my audio game but don't know where to start. Any similar guides like the OP but for audio?
Not a single screenshot/features page without having to sign up?

I won't be giving this a try
