Re:Why Common Lisp Is Now the Best Programming Language on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @12:46AM (#49974309)
I imagine production backend with LLM connected using debug interface and patching the code continuously on any exception encounter.

Arguably, the current AI's top strength is hallucinations over a broad domain, and it looks like is something we humans need. And human level judgment is something AI needs, at least I hope so...

I wish one day tools like gitlab and forgejo ditch filesystem storage for git repos and put everything in sqldb. I’m tired of replicating files for DR
Maybe sto-olap was meant by the authors?
I don't know what is really happening in Iran, but after Gaza genocide I don't trust a damn word from mainstream western media.
why Minnesotans don't choose another state to live in instead of protesting ICE?
I would argue it doesn't, because both cases are examples of guilt by association. One is history, the other is manufactured by israel
Allowing this code:

    struct Id(u32);

    fn main() {
        let id = Id(5);
        let mut v = vec![id];
        println!("{}", id.0);
    }
would break ‘zero cost abstractions’.
Why arrest if you can silence?

How do we know that there are no powerful men behind anonymous accusations?
Yep, very strange, considering overall quality of the guide

That design probably has more with phone network penetration rather than corporate firewalls. The most likely use case for on prem Google would be far away sites with no connectivity except a phone line

Is there some legal or moral significance of underlining that the occupation is _temporary_ ? Is _permanent_ occupation somewhat more justified or what?
Re:The pro-Israel information war on Saturday December 09, 2023 @07:46AM (#38581523)
> Hamas to allow civilians to use its tunnels as shelters.

That is absurd. Israel bombs “facilities used by Hamas”, civilians going in Hamas tunnels will be a direct target for IDF.

Re:The pro-Israel information war on Saturday December 09, 2023 @07:35AM (#38581444)
We can’t extrapolate 9/11 to all instances of radicalization but exclude Israel.
Re:The pro-Israel information war on Saturday December 09, 2023 @07:22AM (#38581366)
Is it not though? The expulsion started immediately after UN partition recommendation of Nov 1947, the Arab-Israeli war started in May 1948, that is only 6 months later

Just use a custom template processor

I agree that $ is more common and causes less visual friction, but what I like about \{} is that on my keyboard they are three keys adjacent to each other.
I'm confused, why most people here refer to "South Asian community"? Isn't caste system relevant only to non-muslim part of a single country?

In Turkiye stupid tax rules make pickup trucks (e.g. Toyota Hilux) cheaper than more efficient 2 row SUVs (e.g. Toyota RAV4).
Re:Ox on Tuesday April 25, 2023 @03:16AM (#35697467)
In turkic langs we have öküz/өгіз and likes, and they indeed mean ox.
So, for PyQT to exist, Python must be GPL’ed? That doesn’t seem reasonable.
and the more tricky version to choose from countries/flags with similar design
There should be a reverse version also, with a nation in top and choose a flag below
Re:You don't have to engage with people on the Internet on Saturday January 21, 2023 @08:46AM (#34466363)
Sadly (?), in some cultures lying, libel and profanity is not something normally expected even from anonymous strangers, so they basically believe most things on Twitter and Facebook. And applying critical thinking to every piece of info online is too much effort and time-consuming, so that is not practical for the unsophisticated.

May be there should be at least some effort to address "realistic looking" misinfo, so that the lack thereof could not be interpreted as avoiding to engage out of fear.

I read the article, and only saw her account of the name. If you have more reputable source for that I will retract
Re:The Shameful Cancellation of Jihad Rehab on Saturday October 15, 2022 @04:39PM (#33218398)
No, article mentions _her_ statement about the name. If you have a more reputable source for that, I will retract

And your source for Islam is Ayatollah? He is not even a sunni. The point is he directly/indirectly benefits from misrepresenting the Prophet
Re:The Shameful Cancellation of Jihad Rehab on Saturday October 15, 2022 @03:20AM (#33212584)
One doesn't need seeing the film to notice the racism in the title. The title could be "terrorist rehab", but it now looks like jihad is bad per se, while jihad for Muslims can mean anything from "struggle against self ego" to "defend country from invasion". All Muslim scholars denounce terrorism and yet she chose "jihad" in the title.
