I have the same justification with study notes, and prefer typing most of the time for the speed and easy referencing.

Some people just like the tactility of writing. I have a fountain pen I enjoy writing with, and the process is fun, and result can be more pleasing to look at.

The slowness of writing also lets you stew in your thoughts a bit more. It really depends on how you like your catharsis.

the latter part of your comment reads like exposition for the Dune novels :P
really makes you think about how strong America's democracy actually is if it can be corrupted this cheaply.
Re:Why you can’t buy a thermapen on Amazon (2016) on Monday May 10, 2021 @11:51PM (#27114039)
i just avoid Amazon flat out for most purchases. No way to tell what you're buying is genuine, and I've been burnt far too many times.
add to that their foray into Mobile gaming (ignoring their main player base), as well as the controversy around Hong Kong.
Re:Anxiety is in your body, not your mind on Monday April 12, 2021 @02:20AM (#26776491)
Have you checked out the book "When Panic Attacks" by Dr David Burns? It's a book that's helped a few friends of mine with severe social anxiety. It's CBT, but you may benefit from a book more tailored towards anxiety, as opposed to more generalised negative thoughts.

Re:How bullying may shape adolescent brains on Thursday October 10, 2019 @08:45AM (#21213767)
Everyone has sociopaths and narcissistic tendencies to varying degrees. But to say that "most" bullies are sociopaths or narcissists that can't be helped like OP said (before editing their comment) misunderstands people period.

Adolescents don't have the developed perception of consequence as adults, and yet OP is already pinning them with mental disorders that can't be resolved. Pure speculation that is outright wrong.

In the case that you mention with learned anti-social behaviours, counselling can most definitely help with unmapping/correcting those behaviours.

Re:How bullying may shape adolescent brains on Thursday October 10, 2019 @07:36AM (#21213252)
that's a huge assumption you're making.

Narcissists and Sociopaths make up 1% of the population each. To characterise most young bullies as narcissists/sociopaths when A - Their brains are still developing, and B - They're at an impressionable age where their sociability is highly moulded by their environment (e.g. parents) is disingenuous.
