A friend just told me today that he got his iphone stolen by a class mate. He went to the police, gave them the UID of the phone, and he got it back 3 days later.

Apperantly, as he told me, the police contacted apple which gave them the exact position of the mobile phone through the build in gps device, so the police could just pick it up.

Re:A New High-Tech Battle - Which 3-D Glasses Are Best? on Monday December 28, 2009 @05:34AM (#1018428)

The webserver will only do computations which data they get from other services (memcache, etc...). They will never fetch the data locally, so there is no local bottleneck except the local bandwith and the efficiency of the code, thus the cpu.
Re:BBC News - Cheques to be phased out in 2018 on Thursday December 17, 2009 @10:07AM (#1001133)
Cheques should be reintroduced in Europe so that the US. can't ocpy all the transactions as it does right now with SWIFT.
Re:BBC News - Cheques to be phased out in 2018 on Thursday December 17, 2009 @10:06AM (#1001130)
It's required by law in the EU to put your bank account details on the web if you run a company.
The other link shorteners don't have access to your email, to your search history, to your phone, to the places you look up on the internet, etc...
