> Most data centers are closed loop systems, they circulate the water over and over again.
The linked article talks about >500 million gallons used by one large Google AI datacenter in a year. It's nice that most are closed loop systems, but if it's such a common thing to do then why isn't it done by default with all those AI datacenters? How cheap is water for Google that recirculating it is not a no-brainer?
I am still terrible at real-time conversations in person, having a weird speech impairment on top is not helpful either.
Yes. But when you don't know what it is you may start to believe that it's just you being lazy, stupid, slow, difficult, etc. Especially when everyone around you including teachers use these labels and you literally have no other information to base your views on. A mix of living with that for decades and being unable to know how life feels for other people can make you gaslight yourself very thoroughly.
A diagnosis is an acknowledgment of an authority on the subject that you are in fact not crazy and don't have to blame everything that happened on yourself.
> Leaving the reaction for the diagnosed to be mostly nothing in that they already know
I am glad for everyone who experienced it like that, but that's not a reason to diminish the significant effect for many others.
One of the first signs I noticed in my childhood was that I was asking myself why everyone treated me differently for no apparent reason, and I would say that is a pretty clear indicator for autism as it stems from neurotypical social interactions being more or less a foreign language, and both sides subconsciously recognize that.
> Mostly he's aggressive, low patience, disobedient AF, requires a ton of attention.
I happened to be friends with someone who'd fit that description, the way he behaved at home with his parents was genuinely crazy. But then turned out shockingly normal years later. Sometimes it really is just a phase I guess.

I paid YT Premium once. It unlocked a playback queue in the app. That queue had 5 separate bugs I found within an hour. It's literally a simple playlist and yet not a single feature (adding, removing, reordering etc) worked reliably. The playback queue also randomly emptied itself sometimes. Meanwhile I get a superior version of this in the browser by simply opening a video in another tab, for free.
Why should I pay for that while they only have AI support designed to never solve any issues, do nothing against bots, and then warn you that you may get banned when you report too many bots?
Are you not aware how unpopular practically all recent changes on YT are among its users? Almost none of the changes done on YT in the last 5+ years would have happened if they took into account what users & creators want. So how exactly does telemetry and A/B testing help when it either tells them the opposite of reality or they simply interpret the data however they like anyway?
As long as students ask the teacher what they're going to need understanding of maths for they are not prepared adequately.
The education systems were already hopeless before LLMs and now they got caught with their pants down. Of course some problems were unavoidable, but this overreliance on homework was always a problem in my eyes.
Also I don't see how it's unfair to expect refrigerators that cost a grand to do their one job without firmware.
I use about:processes to stop processes that eat up too much memory over time. The tabs stay open but get unloaded. YouTube especially acts like a black hole for memory if you let it.
I do prefer and run Linux on my desktop, and could complain about Apple and Mac OS all day. The level of polish is very inconsistent. But despite everything it's still not as user hostile as Windows got nowadays.
"Linux won't even run on these machines until in 2-3 years, if you're lucky"
I have yet to buy a Windows machine where Linux works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. My most compatible machine to date needed a USB-C ethernet adapter to get a network connection for more than 10 minutes at a time. So ironically old M series Macs might not be the worst choice given Asahi doesn't need to target every hardware configuration of the last couple decades.
It's sad no one bothered to copy ideas from Windows Phone 8, its UI had a lot of thought put into it and was exactly as efficient to use for left-handed users.
