Re:Request for Startups: Kill Hollywood. on Saturday January 21, 2012 @03:32AM (#3493007)
Does anyone have a connection at Netflix, preferably in biz dev or online partnerships of any kind. They make it notoriously hard to get in touch with anyone there, no emails listed, phone call leads to call center support who cant transfer you to anyone worthwhile, no reply from twitter msgs etc..

Re:What Canadians can do to fight SOPA/PIPA on Monday January 16, 2012 @11:30AM (#3471221)
I see where you are coming from... What exactly do we say to our Canadian representative if the law dosen't exist here? Do we just ask them to toughen their Extradition policies so if a law does get passed and were liable for anything we don't get sent over (See case of UK guy running a tv site) or do we ask them to call the US and share how Canadians feel?
does this all work based on picking up key sentences or can it rewrite content as well?

Re:Schlep Blindness on Sunday January 15, 2012 @02:14PM (#3467929)
perhaps it was your team? or lack there of? were you a SVP at amazon? was this a common problem there... etc etc
Re:Schlep Blindness on Sunday January 15, 2012 @02:03PM (#3467901)
Another problem is, if you are out of university or high school without much experience in really any field, what exactly are you going to build, you have no real specializations and are a blank state, so you can work with what you do know a little about... music? recipes, travel? existing consumer web apps that are easy to code (and then coding it and realizing marketing is the real challenge for them).

Wondering what Paul G. thinks of this.

Re:Schlep Blindness on Sunday January 15, 2012 @02:00PM (#3467897)
Perhaps the irony here by PG is that, even now 99% of people will not do what strip does.
Re:Schlep Blindness on Sunday January 15, 2012 @01:57PM (#3467888)
and this is because of many reasons too... Easier money, lack of time for harder problems, scared of failure and thus wasting time/money. Agreed to point one, more shlep now, less marketing required.

Re:The Invention of Waterloo (Canada’s Technology Triangle) on Monday January 09, 2012 @01:20AM (#3441643)
karamdeep perhaps everything looks great because you are on the other side of the table... and not creating a startup yourself...
Re:The Invention of Waterloo (Canada’s Technology Triangle) on Monday January 09, 2012 @01:17AM (#3441639)
agreed! York Angeles, ONE Network et al, 25% for $25k... what a joke. Not to mention the lack of investments in Consumer-centric startups... Valleys the way to go.
