My favorite part of game is also the things. I am so glad I get to experience game and then share my totally authentic and uncompensated opinion with fellow game enthusiasts on world wide web.

Meanwhile Facebook refuses to do anything about accounts promoting genocide in countries like Myanmar.
I think you're right. It sounds like their plans fell through:

Re:How to Hide from a Drone on Saturday October 17, 2020 @05:19AM (#24808721)
Missing from this conversation is the use of drones as weapons. We’re used to thinking of drones as tools of government surveillance. But ISIS and Iranian backed groups have been using off-the-shelf drones with 3d printed parts to make airborne IEDs. It’s not hard to imagine white supremacist militia groups using them in the United States to carry out terrorist attacks.
Re:Apple Terminates Epic Games' Developer Account on Saturday August 29, 2020 @03:28PM (#24318772)
Right. Because the tens of millions of people buying Apple products are all ignorant rubes, not informed consumers purchasing superior products. /s

If you think Apple owners don’t know about this, you are mistaken. Curating the App Store is one of the main reasons why I buy Apple products. I want them to tax and restrict developers.
Remember when Google tried their own federated communication app and failed? Maybe they’re just jealous.

There’s a software company in Seattle that won’t let you fill out their online application without entering your high school GPA. I suspect they do this to discriminate against older applicants.
Polygraphs are comic book technology. The first one was invented by the guy who created Wonder Woman and they were popularized by a commercial for Gillette razors. It's as ridiculous as determining guilt by batarang or kryptonite. It's amazing we still allow them in law enforcement.
At a minimum they should take away the verified status.

You can download from webtorrent nodes as well as bittorent, you can use it without forwarding any ports, and you can start watching a video as soon as you start downloading it instead of waiting until it’s done.
We keep proving factors in the Drake equation are much higher than predicted. Maybe life isn’t precarious at all but civilization is.
Apple puts users before developers which is why they have such a large market share. If you can't reach their high standards, just develop for another platform. There's no need to whine on HN about it.
Studies suggest the opposite. UBI does not cause inflation.

The real reason for the change is to exclude more Asians.

History is a circle.

> An inflation of the money supply is by definition inflation.

Not true. Inflation refers to changes in the price of goods in services, not changes in the money supply. This is basic economics anybody who graduated high school should know.

UBI does not cause inflation.
Also, has everyone forgotten that, until relatively recently, half the population stayed at home to raise children, cook, and clean the house? Going from one-paycheck homes to two-paycheck homes and letting daycare raise our children hasn't made us wealthier, happier, smarter, or healthier.

We should allow UBI to take us back to the way things were before but without the gender discrimination. We should be encouraging fathers and mothers to spend more time looking after their children, not telling people their labor has no value unless they're contributing to GDP.

Re:Reddit rolls out community currencies on Ethereum on Thursday May 14, 2020 @05:43PM (#23185913)
Why this is a recipe for disaster: 92 of the top 500 reddit subs are controlled by just 5 accounts.

It might be common sense to you and me but a lot of people doubt it. Studies like this are important.

That's "how it works", not "what it can be used for". Regular websites can be designed to handle high traffic. Regular websites can make backups.

What new thing does ipfs make possible that would make users install the software to use it?

Re:IPFS 0.5 on Wednesday April 29, 2020 @02:28AM (#23016057)
Can someone provide an example of a service that ipfs enables that can’t be provided on the regular web?
I think this is good place to remind everyone that your brain doesn't actually remember events. It only remembers the last time you remembered it. Every time you access a memory it's a lossy rewrite influenced by the emotions you are currently feeling and other memories you associate with it.
