I still think P != NP, I would assume 2^{n/log(n)} is an elegant optimal boundary.
Before the official fix someone published it, and it seems the person is not associated with Calif:

Ok, based on my reads on Wiz and Calif writeups, there are 5-6 issues mapped to 2 CVEs.
Wiz (with GPT 5.6 Sol + Gemini 4 Argon) : Remote process-memory disclosure; OPcache type confusion; Fatal-error backtrace UAF. POC on Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla
Calif (with LLM, no specific model, but model is accessible to all): Zend HashTable OOM. Targets PHP-FPM and mod_php.
Both discovers the UAF on upload progress unserializer.
Surprised to see the anime girl dancing with POC is really uploaded by Calif researchers.
None of these 2 CVEs seem relate to POC spread in twitter. I'm not sure if the POC is something fake or they just unveil something within a few hours..
TiDB, eMudhra CA, and this
I wonder if this is the new norm for LLM era...
Could this be used in obfuscation? We should try to apply it and see if LLM can deobfuscate it.
The entire thing is beyond confusing. So Anthropic refers to an open-sourced project and credit it in the original article.
I don't know how the author is pissed off. Only thing the author aware is Claude agents researched Mononoke solution, then it claims a closed source repo is a plagiarism case.
I don't get it, and I'm seeing more and more cope here.
I would admit seeing more mathematicians irritated is a good popcorn show.
For what's worth it, this batch of results are not very tight intentionally by OpenAI and promising mathematicians already started to consume them and improve the results, while someone is still complaining on it.
You should avoid add model name (or at least use Open weight model names) in your title, so it would be 90 (amazing) : 10 (lost the book value) comments. /s
Agree, will see after the dilution and CoT hack fixed, will they keep the pace now. MiMo had some good numbers recently because it's discovered that the post evaluation RL directly exposes answers to models, so RL and evaluation is runied.
Because good enough in the writer's context is a pretty low standard. While many people regards GPT 6.1 Sol or Opus 5.5 as "incapable" in some cases.
Just try Opus 5.5 reminds me how Opus 4.5/4.6 astonishes me. Completely different, and GLM-5.3/Kimi3/DS-4.1 are still like Opus4.8 levels.
just ignore what HN said, most people still in denial mode
This is the exact definition of rumor.
A random accusation of western lab using DeepSeek caching technique being top of HackerNews, this article feels more awkward than the AI race for me. It's a shame for all HackerNews viewers.
I'm so bored by HackerNews commenters on decelerationism stuff. Model doesn't care; the ability for math problems is emerging, not trained.
These mathematicians are not suggesting anything interesting, and the announcement more like desperate crying stuff
JReduce (
https://dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.1145/3453483.3454091) uses similar technique but with semantics for debugging such problems with Java decompiler and bytecodes.
The problem is we don't know if compiling with these functions follows the monotonicity of binary searching: what if a problem is caused by a special combination of two functions? You have to arrange these two functions in the right order in order to find the problem.
This sounds like LINQ, or SparkSQL. Instead of a full new language, it makes feel better to create libraries in languages that supports embedded DSL easily.
