You will have a hard time convincing people of this. Myself I don't agree. But I can see how it is appealing to privileged people who don't have to suffer petty crime themselves.

I share your concern, but CAD has claimed to be able to wipe localStorage, IndexedDB and Service Workers for some time (a few months?). Check the settings screen of CAD and see for yourself.

If I wanted to see naked women on tiktok, I would not complain about it.
If you make a new profile on tiktok (or just download the app) you will see a few women in borderline pornographic videos. That's all it took for me to remove the app, which means I did not give the app much time to learn about my tastes.

I don't personally agree with banning an app for that reason, but "indecent" is a proper adjective for a good chunk of the content you see on TikTok. Sometimes I wonder if bombarding people in the west with this kind of content is a strategy from China, because surely they don't allow such videos in the mainland.

Visible but disabled items are only useful if they can be enabled in a more-or-less obvious way. Showing a disabled item that you can't enable in any way is bad UX. Am I wrong?
Re:Apple tells Telegram to take down protestor channels in Belarus
on Saturday October 10, 2020 @04:38AM (#24737510)
But those notices really are irrelevant, right? I mean, there is nothing I can do to bypass them. It's bad UX, like showing a disabled button that I can't enable by any means.
Having said this, you can still use Telegram Web on Safari to bypass these restrictions.

The App Store is theirs and they will kick you out if they don't like you. Isn't that good enough?

They can see the title and possibly the picture, though. (People who know this use inconspicuous names and pictures)

Re:Memory safe ‘curl’ for a more secure internet

The website could detect whether you are using a regular browser or curl itself to download the .sh file and return something different. So inspecting the .sh using your browser before you run that line would not protect you.

I love masscan, I guess the author won't read this, but thanks for this tool, it's very useful.
If you hadn't made it, someone else would've written it in Python so it would get stuck on CPU all the time, heh.
