Rob was such a cool guy. He showed me how to run a still made from a pressure cooker, some copper tubing, and a garden hose.
"The Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL) has been a center of excellence for Artificial Intelligence research, teaching, theory, and practice since its founding in 1963."

Am I? How so? For calling out someone for a lazy comment? I read the article and even though I don’t agree with everything mentioned, I wouldn’t shrug it off as AI slop.
In that case, clipshot.org is also available.
I thought is was the letter U and the numeral 2.
You are referring to the former Soviet Union. Russia is currently trying to claw them back, which is why the US and the rest of the world are in a big 10-8 place.
Is it me or is there an entire generation stuck inside a 1999 film? The Matrix was great eye candy, but it wasn't meant to be taken as seriously as some people have made it out to be. Recalibrate if you're still stuck on the word 'woke' because if you can't clearly and adequately define the word you're using, it's a good sign you should probably drop it from your vocabulary. The same goes for the pill metaphor. It was lazy when Morpheus used it just as it was lazy when Dr. Edgemar used it in Total Recall. Wake up, Neo!
Seems like a miscalculation on their end. You'd think they'd check around before throwing $3M away.
Just took steam out to Holt on Monday. The conductor mentioned it was the first run in weeks due to the drought.
I don't know about you, but don't people use encryption to retain privacy? And are people still free to manage their personal information? Doesn't a duress PIN present that information in its intended form? I'm confused.
Not saying insurance saves anything. Corporations go after each other all the time; nothing new there. What is new are the opportunities to extract provided by uncontrolled LLM fuckery and an unsuspecting c-suite that believes they're immune.
There's plenty of evidence that LLMs lie, cheat, and steal. Corporations are known for having all of the benefits of personhood with none of the responsibility. As more people are harmed through interactions with these non-human entities, insurers will start looking to those accountable and they will extract their pound of flesh.
In Richard Murphy's review of ‘The Great ADHD myth?’ he states that Channel 4 should hang its head in shame. [1]
tl;dr:
"[Pemberton] failed to mention that he specialises in geriatric care."
"No evidence was presented from anyone who suffered from the condition, except a 10-year-old boy."
"...a biased view on a subject where the opinion presented will cause significant harm..."
"...deeply ethically and politically irresponsible."
Keep in mind that this is an article by the BBC about a BBC documentary. Think critically about bias in state run media or suffer the consequences.

Rhino + Grasshopper is the gold standard for all the curvy geometry in anything resembling Zaha Hadid’s work. It is also parametric. There’s even a plug-in to use it inside Revit. Solidworks is great for designing the chassis, but the body was probably sketched in Rhino or Maya.
I haven’t fully tested it, but just wanted to say nice job! It even looks decent on my handset, which isn’t trivial.
This no longer appears to be the case.
You’d think they’d have the green data center thing down already, but that ain’t going to happen when politicians still boast “clean coal” and moan on about wind farms. It takes real leadership and economic force to transition towards a green economy, therefore you’re going to get pushback while heading toward a brick wall.
A good start would be to limit new data center construction to zero-emissions DC-only compute. Slap a ZEDCO badge on it and you’ll get that buy-in you’re looking for.
You are not alone. MBAs found APIs. Eternal September and all that.
I pinpoint the start of “safetyism” with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Polly Klaas in Petaluma, California in 1993. Overnight, nobody let their kids outside unattended. It was crazy that nobody talked about it. Terms like “helicopter parenting” sprung up to explain it, but it was obvious they were freaked out by the media’s 24/7 coverage. And the weird thing about it was the guy abducted her from inside her own home during a sleepover, not off the street, like most people assume.

This post feels misleading or possibly just nostalgic. The books referenced still exist because the people creating the technology are still writing them. They're also creating video and attending conferences (virtual or otherwise). That's not going away anytime soon. But perhaps what has changed is how the information is accessed.
Do you need to debug some ancient perl? Sure, ask Claude. You'll get an answer and move on. But if you're looking to learn how to use the next technology before it's mainstream, you'll go looking for that material. And it's there, where you expect it to be. Do you still watch network television or haunt Blockbuster? Times change and the market moves on. The interesting thing is, people like books and they're also available for those looking for a physical artifact to hold. Most of what's available is POD. Depending on the title, you're hitting the print button when you place the order.
PE? Private Equity is the slippery slope to Public Enshitification.
MAYA has extensive NURBS tools, which means it can import and export CAD data natively. While Blender does support basic NURBS geometry, it lacks tooling to fully support it.
If the idea is to support Blender for use with “Digital Twins” or “World Models” then the first step is to start with accurate geometry. Anything less is slop.
