And this is where the fallacy of judgement lies, people do not make objective decisions and assume based on random factors.

Imo, only similar type of people get the attention which they can usually use better at another company making more but sucks for the senior. Hence, mentoring should be done selflessly based on who needs it most as it ends up increasing the average and hopefully some other senior somewhere trains your new hire.

You'd be surprised how much a pet can understand. It's more like we can't understand them. They know all our ticks and can sense emotions before even we realize.

But then their hidden stereotypism wouldn't work.
You are out of touch, M1/M2 runs circles around any other silicon and the pro line has great design and usage for convenience built in. The solid resale price is the proof as no windows device is worth anything used.
EB2/3 are 80+ years for India last I checked, even more if priority date is after 2019.
That will mean paying taxes and these snowbirds want to skip that.

And you wonder why they turn hostile, pay the $60 fee you cheapskate.
Re:The Resilience of Costco on Saturday July 29, 2023 @08:28AM (#36919609)
You must hate the USA as its exactly what you hate.

Families, people who bake or meal prep.Ever tried making ghee, requires a lot of butter.
Re:Embrace Complexity; Tighten Your Feedback Loops on Tuesday July 25, 2023 @05:36PM (#36869916)
USA literally creates money out of thin air, there is no upper cap as they keep extending the ceiling.

This is how we have a CEO making $100b from a single company stock which would be impossible if it were a zero sum game.

Hype which is even more rarefied air, can create so much money without taking anything from the customers. Silicon Valley VC's create valuations for companies out of thin air and then triple it even without anyone ever seeing that money.

Attention which is unlimited in a way is a new form currency, which is why you see platforms being built up to get more eyeballs.

The rule you mentioned comes into play when taking into account players in the game i.e any game where you can add more players is guaranteed to become zero sum.

In real world situations where cooperation is needed, we mostly have a non zero sum game. For ex - https://cs.stanford.edu/people/eroberts/courses/soco/project...

One could say its a car given the price, you could buy a decent used car for that price but it won't be as cheap to operate or environment friendly.
It is as that replaces 1 car, imagine if every family did that instead of 4 people buying 4 separate cars like crazy people.
It is and a lot of people do it, just more convenient and the norm in many cities to use a big van for small humans.
That ebike can barely protect itself let alone be autonomous and run for more than a few miles at slow speeds. Not realistic any way but purely efficiency based way which you pointed out, still unrealistic for 99% of US population unfortunately. Maybe in Europe where places are more walkable.
Did you follow any of her misdoings? It was highly probable that people would have gotten incorrect medical test results due to her fraud product. Such people get a taste of things like the WeWork guy and keep scamming the system with their fake ass charisma.
Nope never was true, never will be.
none of those are comparable quality in terms of streaming.
So you were already planning to cancel, no need for clickbait comments.
Re:Why I Left Rust on Sunday May 28, 2023 @09:43AM (#36103932)
Let us see you rewrite it given the community culture and guidelines. Can't write i left because of toxic pieces of shit people with zero empathy.
Re:Why I Left Rust on Sunday May 28, 2023 @09:37AM (#36103889)
I think being apathetic about it won't solve anything either. An expert leaving a is a big issue as that brings about the underlying rot in the committees way of handling bad or fool hardy behavior from a mob. You maybe should care a little given the flaws it exposes in their processes or lack of managing the human element.
What you say makes sense but misses a critical point i.e of self compassion. Looking at the piano example, if they are kind to themselves and based on the amount of compassion they have, a failure of screwing up a few keys might be nothing, missing a piece from a song might be a bad day and screwing up a live orchestra may be a learning experience. To another unkind to self piano play one or all of these are catastrophes and a hit to ones self esteem. Both of these folks are experienced piano players but the former is able to disconnect and review their mistakes without placing a judgement on self(i.e. being a harsh parent to self.)

Depending on how harshly one judges oneself is the reason for not handling criticism to ones failings. No one is perfect so one better be kind and try to learn from their mistakes and not take it on their ego.

Re:My 20 Year Career Is Technical Debt or Deprecated on Tuesday May 16, 2023 @05:31AM (#35959472)
That's exactly the problem, we need a JIRA that is quick, efficient and not a death trap of a corvette for a 16yr old mental adult. Pretty please....
Re:Taxonomy of Procrastination on Tuesday May 16, 2023 @05:26AM (#35959433)
Yeah this is a problem faced by perfectionist types who end up being very successful but hate their lives every day.
Re:Taxonomy of Procrastination on Tuesday May 16, 2023 @05:24AM (#35959424)
Congrats you have somewhat hacked your ADHD or similar mental issue. It's related to executive functioning and is limited so lowering the bar like you do works well however those tricks usually decay over time or become habit at which point one is not thinking actively anyways.
I'd recommend watching Upload after this, based on this exact concept just not as good as the video, still pretty realistic.
Re:Fuck Being Productive on Friday May 12, 2023 @07:06AM (#35914545)
What do you drink in the morning for working years for a skill only to hope passion shows up. Imo, if you actually listen to yourself(if you can hear) its easy to find out if you are passionate about certain things. No need to spend 10 years hating woodworking only to find no passion for it lol.Self help authors these days.
Wow and you have an appreciating asset(not really) and are buying stuff. It's way lower if you have a corp/LLC and just expense stuff along with reloc and depretiation. That said having a job sucks anywhere as you are the tax base.
Because tech talent is cheap for the amount of productivity in US with ability to fire at will.Ease of fooling and swindling people if you have the right connections. In Europe shit that gets you into jail is a just a small monetary fine in USA.
QoL in Europe is way better than US.Labor laws and life in general is better even with the lower pay as its all relative.
You are out of your depth if you are comparing numbers, try interviewing in this market as a generic web dev and reality will come to you very soon. SV caliber devs leaving US because they can find better paying roles internationally or not even looking due to fat severance/low pay in the bay.
