Thanks for the context, the state of HN has been quite sad in recent years, now people (hopefully, and not bots) read the title and then go on random anecdotes, dumb generalisations and awkward tangents.

Since DEI became a curse word, you cannot say you do anything for women anymore. I think it's pretty clear who the community still is, but with snowflakes running the government, wording suffers.

It sounds like a listening exercise for TOEFL. Cadence is all off, real people don’t talk like this in meetings.

How is this page so bad to read on mobile?
A nuclear reactor is takes years and years to build, this is again Europe selling it's sovereignty to big tech for some short term cash.

What is a joke? Foldable phones have existed for years at this point, if anything Apple is catching up. And plenty of people want bigger phones.
Tens of millions have voted for this 3 times in the past 10 years, it succeeded twice. This is not going away, half the voting population of the US wants to live under authoritarian rule and will do anything to take the whole country with them.
They’re not giving anybody any samples lol
There’s no such thing for the billionaire class.
They were always capable of these thoughts, money just gave them access to actions as well. Money didn’t turn them extreme IMO, maybe more fearful about losing it.

It was $120 even a year ago (bought one in April of last year), the jump $750 is really weird.

Just today I wanted to add to my nvim setup some validation for Kubernetes YAML. Asked Claude why it wasn’t looking at schemas correctly. After 30 minutes of prompts and nudges, during which it went on multiple wild goose chases, I just gave up and did it myself.

Other times I did have more success but it’s not rare to encounter this infinite loop style drill-down, which ultimately wastes more time than if I did it myself from the beginning.

I read this article about 3 weeks ago when this bit me. Really great write-up, some tricky details.

Yes they are, 6k is peanuts to a lot of people.
In Romania it's so bad that there are companies who will handle everything for you, even if technically the chamber of commerce has a digital interface as well. Everything is handled online and you get digitally signed papers in a reasonable amount of time.

This is probably the solution, an EU-wide company that has local offshoots and can handle the bureaucracy for a fee.

It’s almost as if they were making a joke.
The exact same thing happened to me. I chopped off a good half a cm with an axe when splitting firewood about 5 years ago. After no less than 6 months there wasn’t any sign of the mutilation.
Re:Hey, N00B, We Didn't Hire You to Complete Tasks on Saturday June 20, 2026 @01:52AM (#48606689)
The flip side of this is the "high performer" who is constantly refactoring legacy code because they can only understand code that they wrote. And then add overly DRY refactors all over the place that is a pain to then make specific again.
But this doesn't just show that Anthropic is bad news, but essentially that every US based LLM provider is as well. This current administration is making completely random, wild decisions with entirely opaque reasoning.
Well since SpaceX will be included in the SP500 and Nasdaq100 you'll buy it even if you don't want it.
Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (June 2026) on Monday June 01, 2026 @03:55PM (#48361787)
This job gets posted for almost a year now, it's a joke at this point.
Re:Disney erased FiveThirtyEight on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @01:46AM (#48203555)
Plenty tried, old Joe thought he’ll clutch it out again. People were trying to dissuade him from running in 2023 already.
Projection works up until someone calls the bluff, just like Iran did.
Re:The Whole Anthropic Kerfuffle on Thursday May 14, 2026 @09:51AM (#48135388)
Yes, this is the main point, employees will have less and less leverage (I'm even seeing AI doing interviews now, good luck). Soon we'll be explaining to an AI why we aren't as productive as two weeks ago.
There’s also Yanis Varoufakis’ recent book, Technofeudalism.
It’s not ommited, OP clearly talks about editing Javascript.
Re:I am building a cloud on Thursday April 23, 2026 @12:01PM (#47877379)
HN has had a hate boner for K8s for as long as I can remember.

In my experience, K8s is a million times better than legacy shit it is usually replacing. The Herokus, the Ansible soup, the Chef/Puppet soup before that etc. The legacy infra that was held together by glue and sweat that everybody was afraid to touch.

Select copies, what do you mean?
To be perfectly honest, the seedbox provider had all of these installed and hooked into each other. I only had to add my various logins and configure some profiles. I would think most seedboxes offer a variation of this, so you’re not starting from scratch.
