Add to that, that just like AI:s are good at finding security holes to exploit, they can just as easily be used to protect sites. So once IT-security managers start to use AI to hack themselves, and plug the holes, the average security will spike up, and AI-fueled hacks will become more and more rare.
That does however imply, that AI is released to everyone and not kept away to a few secret actors who can use it. That is why open weight/source AI is so important, and why we must have many AI companies competing. No single actor must be allowed, through regulatory capture, to get a government monopoly on AI. That way lies disaster.
From the immortal TV-show Riget!
Have an LLM write positive email responses, stringing them along as long as possible.
Imagine the Nigerian prince of scams... instead of getting 0.1% response rates that he can work on, he gets 99% responses of encouraging replies stringing him along. He would drown in false positives.
On the other hand, the Nigerian prince of scams would probably just use his LLM:s to take care of the answers, and we'll have email storms of LLM:s stringing along LLM:s.
What I am seeing is the increase of gated communities with the mission of nurturing european, white, culture. But I suspect once arab and african culture becomes dominant in europe, those small communities of peace will be quickly dismantled.
Many young white people tired of europes socialism are moving to the rural US where they feel more at home.
I've been doing business in the EU a long time, and in order to be successful you need to:
1. Never follow all the rules. Focus on your business and customers, and ignore/pay someone to deal with the rest if it ever becomes reality.
2. Start your company in a low cost, low tax jurisdiction. There are plenty of them in the forgotten corners of the EU, or why not a US LLC.
But I think the EU will implode in a decade or two and return europe to a state of innovation and profitability. The nationalist trend will lock any decision making in the EU, and the EU:s deep state will take care of the rest, enriching itself at the cost of the tax payer. The result... countries will leave or just silently start to ignore the EU rules, and then block any legal moves the EU tries to attempt at the EU level.
I suspect the same will/is happening with AI. Either you will pay for it, or it will be so ad infested that it will become useless.
We are also seeing daily examples of this surveillance state being used against political opponents, powerful bloggers and journalists among the alternative media, and regular citizens who said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Since human beings are easily corrupted by power, this system will be weaponized more and more, and democracy will be hacked away at as well, until we are living in an authoritarian society with a democratic fig leaf, as we can see among the dirka-dirka-stans of the world.
China is corrupt, mercantilist, and run like a maffia family, and with the coming demographic hit, their power will soon diminish.
Personally, I'm with the OP. Raising children, and to do a good job at it, is waaaay too much of a burden for me, and would seriously negatively affect most areas of my life.
I find it much more meaningful to focus on creating jobs, companies, products and services people need, than to raise a child with unknown outcome. I see way too many parents who try and appear as if they are happy and say they don't regret the decision, but deep down it is clear they do.
That is why, many of them, once the children are somewhat grown up, split up from their partner, and then try to re-live their lives and all that they missed.
Who the f*ck cares who made it? A monkey could have made it for all I care. If it does what it claims to do, and I understand how, it's all good.
No, the copyright issue is nonsense. That is handled by contract where the contributor is responsible, alternatively, by code submissions of smaller size where copyright loses its meaning, or just base your project in a jurisdiction where it is a non issue.
For 99.99% of the open source projects potential copyright violations is a complete non-issue.
Basically every area that is either forgotten by the mainstream, or completely unknown, and make sure the author is a person and not a company and you'll be on your way to way more interesting discussions, texts, content and interaction, that the B.S. of facebook, twitter and commercial web sites.
Should they happen to vote incorrectly, like when the EU constitution was voted about in ireland and france ,they will just have to vote again and again until by exhaustion, the right result is guaranteed.
The EU has nothing to do with democracy. No, putting a paperslip in a box is not democracy.
I think perhaps switzerland is the country on the planet that is closest to democracy, and they also have the highest incomes ,highest living standards and lowest taxes in europe.
The EU has choose the path of soviet like socialism, and of course the economy will slowly decrease until it collapses, and then we'll get a Hitler 2.0 to "fix" the problems that were caused by the EU dictators.
The best thing you can do if you care about europe, is to move outside of the EU, avoid paying tax, do not feed the beast, and spread the truth, so that fewer and fewer people want to move there. Then it will hopefully collapse in time.
