To get it working in all the browsers that your users use, it's trickier.

Backblaze looks like a great service, but like other cloud-based backup services, it does not store "your operating system, applications, and temporary files."
Out of curiosity, why is this? Are there copyright issues involved?

I cracked the screen of my iPhone 3G a few years back. Rather than get it replaced, I decided to keep it like that since the touchscreen was still perfectly functional. I thought it made an interesting juxtaposition, and I loved the looks of horror mixed with pity people would give it whenever I nonchalantly used it in front of them.

Re:Sprint orders all OEMs to strip Carrier IQ from their hardware
on Saturday December 17, 2011 @04:32AM (#3363896)
If you are really reading between the lines, realize that he is not doing what is best for customers, but what is best for his business. In this case he is serving both, but his motivations lie with the latter.
Carrier IQ is getting a bad rap, so removing it shines a positive light on Sprint. However, if it was installed on their phones they have obviously known about it (and its nature) for some time. Why did they wait until now to remove it?

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." - Robert A. Heinlein
