Time to boycott Sony, they deserve no money from anyone, and I meant anyone.
They're just f*ing with people without getting anyone good stuff.
Suppose they're doing this for copyright, it's not like the pirates would be stopped by a mere DNS block rule set anyway.
IMO, Nintendo deserves stronger backlash just like Sony. Game keycards keep the appearance of physical ownership without delivering what people expect from a cartridge.
I sure looking forward for more people hopping on the AI hacking trend to bring them down.
It's mostly stolen goods anyway, who are they to complain about "distillation"?
Use a standalone app to scan it, inspect the URL before open, easy as that.
I tried to get myself a custom "Brave Origin" some time ago, but just like upstream Chromium, some related code are just poorly guarded, it's not really trivial to do it and keep it up with upstream.
> I know it is easy to just take and hack
No you don't, otherwise we wouldn't have banking apps on it.
This is one of the most ignorant comment I ever read on Hacker News. Are you from VW?
Obviously VW broke the app for GrapheneOS (or any other custom ROM) on purpose, and ironically, things usually works fine for custom ROMs than some Chinese OEM customized ROMs, and when it works, it means the developer went extra miles to implement workaround to cater the flawed OS.[1]

Is social media bad for children? yes (heck it's even bad for adults)
Did the UK do this for good cause? absolutely not, they're doing this for the same purpose of all that age-verification bs.
A saying being old doesn’t make it invalid anyway. What’s your point?
Friendly reminder: The pennies are going to be used to bring community devs lawsuits.
I can't think of any valid reason for a person with sane mind to do this. Yes, macOS is somewhat closed, but it's definitely more open than ChromeOS.
They sure do earn enough money to afford whatever number that is on your mind.
Did you mean: _Alternatives with age verification_?
So many years and they can't(or refuse to?) ship to Asia, ridiculous.
I heard and read negative things about them, do they actually ship?
Is it just me or the meaning of the word "self-host" changed?
This is plain stupidity over some SJWs pointless whining, sad to see people being such braindead to support bullshit like this.
It's easy, just by bundling stuff and "luring" users to sync data to their probably-insecure(!) server.
Not with MAS. It's supported until 2032.
Dual-boot user here, while this is definitely good to hear, but I think it's even more important that how many players could ditch Windows and switch to Linux for their games.
Suppose I play one of the 10% games that wouldn't work on Linux, I'd still need to keep my Windows installation around, right?
> PWAs
And I wonder when can we stop lying to ourselves pretending "web"-apps are real (native) apps?
Heh, I wonder if it's just like how 4chan anons j?rking off to themselves for the fact that Ofcom sends out pointless fines and sh?t.
huh? what makes you think of that?
So tired of their auth wall, screw 'em.
Windows 10 IoT LTSC FTW as always if you're not going to switch to Linux distros, Microsoft promised that Windows 10 would be the last version of Windows but they broke it, I see it as more than 100% morally correct to pirate LTSC for this.
Can people just stop buying Nintendo products so less money for them to do all these legal bullsh*t?
> They do care about doing what they need on their phone without malware/bloatware/nagware
Yeah you're absolutely right, tell that to Facebook/Instagram/Temu/TikTok/Pinduoduo/(any other _spying_ apps) users.
