I don’t recall doing that, if so I’m sorry, but i would say yes, they are worried. I don’t doubt that SpaceX can make it work eventually, but the timelines keep increasing, even without factoring in the additional work required to serve the ISS
Isn’t that in line with the comment, that they aren’t accurate?
Re:OpenAI raises less than half of $30B target on Saturday October 31, 2026 @12:56AM (#50313333)
They will probably go to other data centers or company premises.
Unfortunately that’s the reality we live in. How do you compete if your competition is willing to move fast and break things? I guess the only option is to move to a provider that doesn’t disclose it’s ai use. Am i too pessimistic?
The same starship that was supposed to land on mars in 2022? I can see why they are hesitant to rely on that
Re:Zero click, silent, remote Android DoS on Thursday October 29, 2026 @04:23AM (#50285986)
Why? I like the presentation.
I was hoping this was about brewing beer.
Re:OpenLDK: Bringing the Java World into Common Lisp on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:28PM (#50268647)
It would be architecture dependent
I don't think it's a mistreatment. I think it's fair that companies and employees have both expectations and if those no longer align they should part ways.
Depends on where you live, in switzerland it’s comparatively easier than in other European countries, so if they just wanted to lay off people they could
Re:Thiel's leaked lectures on the end of the world on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:56AM (#50240513)
Like religion you need a threat to gain power and justify your superiority.
Re:Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone on Sunday October 25, 2026 @01:37AM (#50228652)
On iPhones?
Re:No Signs of AI Payoff Outside the Tech Sector on Saturday October 24, 2026 @10:53PM (#50227832)
Like the internet bubble, that’s fine, openai and anthropic don’t have to survive for ai to be successful
Re:Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone on Saturday October 24, 2026 @03:49AM (#50219093)
I don’t think that hackers would agree to be locked out of a system, or do you mean they want to be locked out as a challenge? In any case you don’t get to choose which OS gets installed, so the parent’s opinion is hypothetical.
Re:Musk Giving Tops $445M in Midterm Election Push for GOP on Thursday October 22, 2026 @10:28PM (#50203799)
you can use words like action committee and lobbying and make those legal, but it boils down to corruption, where the government acts in the interest of companies first and the people second.
Isn’t that the appeal though, that you get AAA graphics on a phone? At least that’s why i used streaming.
Re:Mitos editor is a fork of Helix on Sunday October 18, 2026 @09:54PM (#50147451)
It’s just more convenient to stay in the terminal where I already do a lot of other things. Switching between guis is more of a hassle, since they try to support both keyboard and mouse but often not equally well
Re:Mitos editor is a fork of Helix on Sunday October 18, 2026 @09:46PM (#50147408)
The most recent activity in that PR comes from mitos.
Re:Namecheap just seized and disabled all my domains on Sunday October 18, 2026 @09:24PM (#50147276)
I’m pretty sure it’s an American company. They have or had employees in Ukraine though, but that doesn’t make them an eastern european company.
well, people are waiting since 9 years, i think that's unique
Re:The game industry is broken – can we fix it? on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:18AM (#50138719)
If you look at a game like elden ring I’m not surprised that hundreds of people were involved. It would be sad if we wouldn’t have games like that.
Re:Show HN: Gemini 4 Argon plays StarCraft on Saturday October 17, 2026 @04:11AM (#50129002)
Better. I don’t see the human bots in the v0.2 bench but in v0.1 they didn’t beat stardust, a human written bot, which in turn doesn’t beat the best human players
Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @03:02AM (#50128659)
This would be a step backwards for jet packs, which can currently do minutes of flight, using a tank of high pressure air would reduce that back to seconds
Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @12:10AM (#50127845)
No, it’s invitation only, i don’t think they intend to sell it. It’s probably also for weight reduction to not use a real driver. I guess it’s stripped down to the minimum, because why would you put a 300 mile battery in a car that isn’t even road legal? The main purpose is marketing and they are masters in that
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @05:54PM (#50125257)
It can also create terrible accidents by blowing up in a collision
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @05:42PM (#50125144)
They said there was no real driver in it for safety reasons
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @09:27AM (#50118142)
Probably more a liability to have a high pressure vessel near a collision
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @08:20AM (#50117484)
Well it didn’t have a driver and you can’t see the size of the battery, impressive nonetheless and in the end it’s not like it matters since it has no practical application outside a circus (the flying)
Re:Grace Hopper Celebration Cancelled on Friday October 16, 2026 @06:09AM (#50116488)
I think she’s also well known outside the US, at least if you studied cs
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:55AM (#50115029)
But where would you (be allowed to) use that and risk wrecking your car and life? They weren’t confident to put a person in either. I guess it’s for shows only, the reservation page says invitation only. It’s definitely impressive but it will probably stay a marketing tool.
