Steam is not a monopoly.
Other competitors have made attempts, but they were so poor quality and terribly made, it was no wonder they bowed out.
Want to complete? Compete.
It's like people saying Bitcoin will become a universal currency adopted by all.
This is unnecessary. Use the built in browser autoplay block.
And if that doesn't work, use reader view (as you always should)
The company is cooked due to the CEO being a complete a-hole. AI or not, his behavior is unacceptable for ANY organization. Behavior like that is to be severely punished.
> Who decides what gets to be reverse engineered and what doesn't?
Laws, ideally.
The panic and delusion is reaching a fever pitch with these thieves (AI companies). Typical paranoid criminal behavior.
You do realize single purpose websites have existed for over 20 years, yes?
isitchristmas.com? something.com?
You miss the point.
Demoscenes are for human creations.
Leave AI out of it. Don't ruin yet another hobby.
The community will never accept what you made.
This scam website had it coming.
This guy is crashing out on reddit. What an imbecile.
It's a first gen product.
Author should have known better. They got what they deserved.
Yes. Everyone is forcing AI everywhere and nobody uses AI well.
AI is a net negative in terms of mental health.
It also creeps into hobbies, especially video games where it's absolutely ruined the decomp/recomp scene. AI slop recomps are a cancer on what used to be an incredible revolution in coding.
Being outside alone isn't enough Vitamin D. In the UK there isn't much sun either.
That was due to antitrust pressure such that they did not self-prefer their own apps.
The Compuserve and Netscape ISP website husks also feature no-nonsense text-only news pages with 2000s-style renderings that are near-instant on any device.
68k.news also exists but has been broken for a long time. It's maintained by a retro computing youtuber who seems to have abandoned it or isn't paying attention to its brokenness.
This was 16 years overdue.
Steve Jobs going on that weird unhinged rant about touch being "unergonomic" in 2010 when introducing the revamped Macbook Air was one the most misguided speeches I've ever seen.
Touch on computers (laptops, namely), is a net good. I loved my Surface, and will love it on a Macbook.
Seems like a very incel-coded article. Not a fan of the wording and bizarre tangents.
IPv4 is perfectly and objectively fine on internal networks. IPv6 is overkill and way too complicated for most.
IPv6 can be selectively applied to say, NAT addresses, but other than that, IPv4 is just fine and your statement is incorrect.
Please, even if it is an experiment, don't do this. We don't need more AI slop in the world.
Always have and always will love having a touchscreen on a laptop.
At this point it's a huge loss to not have it on a display. Don't like it? Then shut up and don't use it. Don't yuck others' yum.
You are an outliner. Touch is standard across every device. To not have it just feels like a deduction.
Even now, I find myself resisting the urge to tap things on my Macbook display as it is.
The world moved on. Touch is standard, and Steve Jobs was incredibly wrong with his weird opinions.
This is like people arguing that a computer mouse is not necessary in 1990.
Explain further what you mean. The displays are still best in class. What metrics do you have suggesting otherwise?
What a bunch of nothing and hand-waivey statements. Valve has issues with cracking down on bad behavior, and this response is rather immature and poorly planned.
Do you even use Discord? Is this comment satire? Discord is loaded with ads, upsells, spyware, and straight scams all throughout its UI.
More people use Mastodon than Bluesky. To rely on Bluesky for metrics is a fool's errand.
A Phoenix link is almonst never the "original article." It barely contains half the info OP's link does.
He seems oblivious that midterms are next week + he will be in a lot of trouble past that point.
In my experience Copilot is competing with Grok for being the absolute dumbest LLM out there. It consistently forgets things, loses context, suggests irrelevant garbage, can't parse MS Docs correctly, and can't even spot easy things like files on your system that it objectively has permissions to read.
MS must be losing mountains of money over this.
Bad name. Everything Search is widely known and taken.
Also what even is this? Just looks like a fever dream of AI slop.
