"Who decides what "reality" is,"
Repeatable scientific experiments. Trying to argue objective reality doesn't exist is logically incoherent.

Better means smaller gap with reality. Science works because it is basically a negative feedback control loop to minimize this gap.

Nobody has a working car that doesn't need energy. I almost changed it to energy but figured nobody would not get the point.
"Objective reality does not imply consistent measurement of that reality."
Yet global science converges on a consistent world view. Everybody's telescopes all see the same things.
Modern technology only works because there is a objective reality.

I don't think neural networks have the same ability of self deception as humans do. A huge reason human world models vary so much is due to them being tied to tribal membership. A huge fraction of all people will not come to a rational worldview derived from accurate data but will start with their tribe's worldview and filter data to match. I personally have never modified my worldview for social reasons and it is surprisingly isolating.

The Platonic Representation Hypothesis initially feels profound but actually seems inevitable after some thought because all neural networks are trying to model the same reality. It would actually be weirder if it wasn't true and neural networks could form completely incompatible representations of the same reality. In some sense it seems similar to reducing different math equations to the same most simplified form

You keep proving you don't understand what actually happened at Chernobyl or have a sense of scale of the energies involved. Hydrogen gas exploding is a completely different thing than a badly designed reactor instantly generating over 100 times its designed output and exploding. The hydrogen gas did explode at Fukushima and this damaged the outer building. Fukushima was a firecracker compared to Chernobyl being an actual nuclear bomb.

Re:UK Green party drops longstanding opposition to nuclear power

There was no need for a mass evacuation because of Fukushima, it was a overreaction caused by irrational fear of nuclear power. The evacuation itself caused much harm. It is pretty silly to hype an incident that caused ZERO deaths as some kind of horrible nuclear disaster.
Re:UK Green party drops longstanding opposition to nuclear power
on Saturday October 31, 2026 @07:36PM (#50321315)
No it was never possible for Fukushima to become a Chernobyl style disaster because it has a containment structure and the biggest difference is that Fukushima was basic overheating while Chernobyl was a complex power excursion of over 100GW. There was never a runaway nuclear explosion at Fukushima; it was a severe thermodynamic failure of cooling.

It was absolutely not almost a second Chernobyl. Saying this proves you understand very little of what happened in the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents.

Can you really imagine the average person ever doing this? Or even understanding how multisig actually works? When you need to start engraving wallet addresses in titanium you have to step back and ask about usability.

"you can have multisig wallets"
This falls under "extraordinary precautions" that few people do and is an enormous error prone hassle.

Controlling your own crypto keys is like having your net worth in cash or gold stored in your house. It could easily be lost or stolen or destroyed in a fire unless you take extraordinary precautions and then it is all gone.
