Re:Facebook now charging to post more than 2 links a month on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @01:18PM (#50169611)
No it's 100% placed in comments to try and circumvent Meta's down-ranking of posts with links. Posting in comments doesn't work any more however. Remembering the promise of the early internet, I really can't despise the gatekeepers any more than I do.

You read like a shill for Deepseek interests, and that includes your comment history.
That's interesting. I guess depending on the crow I could also see them figure out that driving critters onto the road creates roadkill meals.
"Was she following it around and blocking it from every direction?"

According to the article, yes.

I'm guessing the comment was more aimed at a future where needing a subscription to run your freezer is a thing.
Re:How to Build Wealth as a Career Person on Sunday October 11, 2026 @02:53PM (#50046526)
This is one of the best, boiled down, to-the-point, common sense articles I've read on this topic that everyone should understand but so many don't. I'm going to have my kids read this.
Re:How Protein Took over the World on Saturday October 10, 2026 @06:40PM (#50037901)
So true, and as a person ages it becomes even more important to keep getting good protein but most don't.
Re:How Protein Took over the World on Saturday October 10, 2026 @06:37PM (#50037884)
From what I've read, both are good sources of usable protein but animal protein is considered higher quality because it includes more essential micronutrients that are delivered more effectively through the digestion process. Basically it's what your body has evolved to process best. Protein drinks do give quick protein for recovery, etc.
Re:Shipping JPEG XL in Chrome on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @04:02PM (#49998070)
Good summary. Thanks. I've played around a bunch with JPEG XL and the lack of JPEG compression artifacts even at much smaller file size is amazing.

Enter LLMs to help through all those pesky hard parts.
My speculation level is at full but the SR-71 program was the gold standard and I think it's good to tap those responsible for it. They were doing some incredible stuff 60 short years ago and dismissing it as "old" is folly.
Re:ASML says it sold 'absolutely nothing' in Europe in 2026 on Sunday September 27, 2026 @12:43AM (#49863421)
Missing out on every Revolution after the Industrial Revolution isn't a recipe for long-term success. I think you might be missing the point of the article.
This should be required reading before you get your internet drivers license.
Plenty of individuals regardless of politics resent the loss of privacy and the growing thumb of big brother.

I'm worried Ai will shortly make it really easy to make targeted viruses and such.

Re:Qwen 3.8 follows GPT-5.5 Pro reasoning prefills on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @03:44PM (#49633028)
I had to install an add-on in Waterfox to stop Rufus from following me around and interjecting every 2 minutes.
How so? They are diversifying their production chain so that all their eggs aren't in one basket. Taiwan might be threatened one day but their US, Japan, and German plants will much less likely be in the same danger.

"existing controversial actions"

Please elaborate. Details would be appreciated.

Agree 100%, though those folders on any Windows install are a train wreck. Anyone attempting to curate anything within them are met with an endless torrent of garbage being thrown into them by Microsoft and any other app that might be installed. Anyone who's PC I oversee, I always beg them to create their own "My Docs" folder and fill it on their own terms. The Windows user experience is such a mess and MS quit caring that it was a long time ago.

Well, they have been trying to fight childhood obesity. It's just that as usual that's difficult too. Ultimately the failures will continue unless parents are the ones implementing meaningful change at home.

I wish you were being hyperbolic but I know better.
It all feels a bit like Dr. Strangelove just the Ai arms race version. Crazies all around.
As far-fetched as it sounds, I'd prefer elected officials and the justice system hold people accountable rather than psychotic murderers.
"comically exaggerated". Tell that to the 10-12,000 people arrested per year for "inappropriate" speech. Please don't go out of your way to defend it.

Just dealt with this. I'm square in suburb America. AT&T in my community can't run lines into established neighborhoods because they can't use existing conduits. They have to dig their own, but local regulations make it difficult and a lengthy process. Easier for companies to just give up and move on. Who's fault does your smell test point to?
It always gets back to the evil Jews with some people and ideologies. Sheesh.
