I think your second point may have more to to do with the diversity of hardware that Android runs on than the developers simply putting less effort into it. Android runs on so many different devices. It is more difficult to develop and Android app that feels totally polished on every device

The layout is a pretty typical Windows application layout. Toolbar on the top, below that there is a scrollable text area with navigational tabs across the top of it, probably for working with multiple documents, and finally, at the bottom, there is a horizontal slider labelled "document position". I imagine the slider progresses forward as the text-to-speech progresses, thus showing how far in the document the text-to-speech is, and how much of the document remains.
It looks like a pretty typical Windows application. A bit simple, but there is nothing wrong with that. It looks like something a Computer Science student might build in Visual Basic for a University project. I think it looks a bit dated, like it's running on a Windows 98 computer. I wouldn't call it pretty, but definitely functional. I feel like I could use this application without needing to be instructed on how to use it. The purpose of every GUI element seems obvious, which is a good thing.
I hope I helped! Best of luck in your presentation!

Ah, thank you for the quick response!
Adding this line to the ~/.xonshrc file fixed the reported behaviour: $BASH_COMPLETIONS.append('/usr/share/doc/git-1.8.3.1/contrib/completion/git-completion.bash')

I installed gitsome on CentOS 7.2.1511 running Python 3.5.1. The auto-complete feature on gitsome will only suggest files, folders, and executables on the path. It will not offer any auto-complete suggestions for git commands, options, branches, etc.

At first I thought this technique sounded like it would work very well for determining if, for example, a European user was using an American IP, but not work well for bordering countries, simply because I assumed the error margin would be fairly large. However, according to the source paper, the error margin is only a few kilometres. Impressive.
