Re:Turning a solar power system into its own backup on Friday October 30, 2026 @07:50PM (#50311682)
It's a weird way to phrase it. It's a solar generator that shares it's turbines with a conventional generator.

What does your comment have to do with out of touch European politicians?
You can buy a bottle of caffeine pills at Walmart for a few bucks. What are we even talking about?
Caffeine is caffeine. Sucrose is sucrose. Homeopathy isn't real.

If inference wasn't profitable why are consumer GPUs that are only good for running open models so expensive? Why and how would these companies sell access to open models if it wasn't profitable? You can rent your own GPU and make money if your electricity is cheap enough.
The first time I heard this fact I laughed for way too long.
The existence of websites where you can rent a GPU to run open models is proof that inference is profitable.

Re:Radio Days on Sunday October 25, 2026 @05:20PM (#50236169)
Radio has always been controlled by the record companies that ensured you listened to what they wanted. Discovering self-published indie artists on Spotify is way better.
On the forum I'm on, chuds are required to include "trans lives matter" in their comments or they don't show up. It's like anti-censorship.
Cool. I'd make the stick figures a little bigger, hard to see on mobile.
It requires a strong-willed webmaster and a board culture that rejects such unfun people.
Do you consider removing illegal content censorship?

My account is 4 years old with a decent amount of karma. Maybe try focusing on the content of our comments instead of our usernames.
