False. If you check Intel ARK, you can see, for example, the i7-2860QM has a max RAM of 32 GB (and this is a processor from 2011). Heck, the i7-8809G supports 64 GB.

It's a pretty intro level book, but a great one.

I'd say its suitable for maybe junior level undergraduates.

This sounds like an ad.
Was this Leesa to replace the Casper? If so, that's a tiny amount of time for it to last.
I'm in the market for a new mattress, and Purple has great advertising. But as far as I've seen in reviews, it hasn't lived up to the hype. That being said... https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/69yukn/purple_mat...

Elsevier is from the Netherlands, not the USA.

Re:JPEG Huffman Coding Tutorial on Wednesday April 26, 2017 @10:07AM (#14203053)
JPEG2000 used Arithmetic coding. But, you'd have to re-write the standard and evaluate it to get JPEG to use Arithmetic coding (e.g. does the way JPEG coefficients are read out still make sense with Arithmetic coding)? There are also other algorithms for universal source coding that exist -- theres nothing to say that arithmetic coding is a good choice, esp. given its relatively complex compared to say Asymmetric Numeral Systems (Duda; arXiv:1311.2540 [cs.IT], though I don't remember where it was published) or (Recursive) Interleaved Entropy Coding (Klimesh and Kiely; NASA/JPL IPN Progress Report 42-146).

Arithmetic coding is just the one everyone knows since its taught in information theory 101 (e.g. Cover and Thomas).

This is way older than GPS -- similar systems were out in the 20s and 30s: http://99percentinvisible.org/article/analog-gps-scrolling-w...

Who the hell would consider Tukey a fringe statistician?
Re:Crypto 101 – Introductory course on cryptography on Friday December 02, 2016 @12:32PM (#13090561)
There is some level of trust when you read books like this (or really any technical book); for that reason I'd probably pass on it for something by an authority in the field (or their recommendations).
Re:Pwning coworkers thanks to LaTeX on Tuesday November 29, 2016 @10:45AM (#13063708)
Checkoway et al. wrote a paper "Don’t take LaTeX files from strangers" in Usenix ;login: a few years ago; People forget that LaTeX isn't just a text file -- it is basically a programming language for typesetting.

Its not linux, but NetBSD still has its macppc port. And Gentoo.

I'm kinda suspicious of this site -- none of the ACLU, HRW , Amnesty International links work at the bottom. And none of those organizations use whoisguard.

You don't need chanserv and you don't need nickserv. Efnet isn't dead -- it's just coughing up blood. (yes, it has ChanFix).

They have Coca Cola Life. Stevia + Sugar. Not particularly great though.
Needs some error checking. John Hine didn't go to Rice, he went to Luther Rice which is a seminary in Georgia.
There are several textbook writers who have made significant profits from their books. James Stewart of Stewart's calculus fame, for example: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2011/02/04/the_house_that_ma...
