Kinda funny seeing this reply side to side with the "I just took LSD" one
Most of the answers to your post are reasons this 75% must be fake / lies or whatever.

But maybe the simplest answer is that most people do use the tools daily now and consider them essential...?

As much as HN would hate to think that

Of course they will, the goalposts will keep shifting because people don't want to admit that agents are now this capable.
Re:Rewrite Bun in Rust has been merged on Thursday May 14, 2026 @07:17PM (#48142496)
I'm really out the loop here so maybe you can help answer me a question - why is HN unhappy about this rewrite? why are people writing here almost as if they feel betrayed by Bun being rewritten from Zig into Rust?

I genuinely don't get it. I've been following this Bun stuff a bit but I don't understand where the HN sentiment is coming from.

I mean this is just fingers-in-your-ears "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!" stuff.

I still have a job so AI hasn't taken that yet. But the suggestion it's "no closer" is ridiculous. At least in my life/career/office this last 12 months seems to have been a real inflection point in how AI is being used for software development.

Re:Shall I implement it? No on Thursday March 12, 2026 @07:24PM (#47358663)
It's funny because I interpret it the opposite way you do. If someone asked me that question, I'd absolutely assume they want it changed and do it.
Re:US banks' exposure to private credit hits $300B (2025) on Thursday March 12, 2026 @10:53AM (#47351467)
One guy has twice as much money as that. Can't be a big deal.
I don't completely disagree with what you are saying -- but there's no way you produce and review 20k lines a day. That part is clearly false. Even if Claude generated it in 10 seconds and it needed no changes you probably still couldn't review that much sensibly.

I used Claude a lot on a recent project where it probably wrote 15-20k lines in a month, and it was overall excellent.

Just ... wow
Re:US Wholesale Inflation Rises by Most in 3 Years on Thursday August 14, 2025 @10:20AM (#44900708)
We all know Trump voters didn't give two shits about the price of eggs. That's not why they vote for him.
You should probably keep to LinkedIn for this kind of crap.
How do you pick a number as specific as 600? I have absolutely no idea how many football games I've ever watched.

Of course he doesn't :)
Re:A Week of Failing to Pay with Bitcoin in El Salvador on Sunday November 03, 2024 @09:40PM (#42037923)
I pay people globally through HSBC all the time. Works instantly.

I never understand this argument anyway. If you can't send funds instantly that isn't because the currently itself can't be transferred instantly - it's because for whatever reason you don't have access to a provider that will provide that service. That's a separate problem and can be solved without having to build an entirely new currency / financial system.

This is how the Taiwan exchange used to do matching, and I still think it's the best system I've seen.

I don't think the reason has anything to do with price discovery, it's just because exchanges want to maximise their trading fees. Continuous order book trading leads to more trades and hence more profit for the exchange.

Still waiting for all this evidence of yours.

Much easier to just go by gut feeling though isn't it.

OP didn't say they engaged in no activity, they just didn't know why they got banned. OP probably did/said all sorts of things that would have justified it.

Anyway I've never felt it's a requirement to have a LinkedIn profile to get hired as a developer, so the post as a whole is strange to me.

Feels slow to me actually this week (also on trial). I wondered if it could be because I'm in Asia and if its faster from the US?

I think Namecheap is the goto recommendation on hacker news.
Even better
They aren't entrepreneurs, they are crooks.
How are you changing it? I don't see an option anywhere...?
Re:How to Become a “Designer Who Codes” on Saturday April 22, 2023 @08:28AM (#35665926)
You break those into a component and the problem is solved.

I absolutely LOVE Tailwind and wish I'd discovered it earlier.

I don't mean to be negative and I'm just giving feedback incase it helps or re-enforces what you've heard/thought before -- but the moving clouds on that page give me a headache and make the page practically unreadable for me.
You know, I was finding this whole thread really depressing and starting to feel somewhat concerned about the impact AI was going to have on my own projects / future.

But actually this is a great point. You are right. Even in software development, the joy is building something excellent. The joy isn't usually in defining random util functions to help you get there.

With these advances we could be about to reach a point where extremely small groups of people could build phenomenal things. How nice it would be to be capable of building AAA games with a team of 2-3 people.

Re:Binance Is Bleeding Assets, $12B Gone in Less Than 60 Days on Tuesday January 10, 2023 @01:02AM (#34321085)
It's been fifteen years. It's mature. It's shit.

I'll be delighted when the giant negative sum ponzi explodes.

The entire space is a huge net negative on society and I wish it didn't exist.

Re:Top Bitcoin dev gets owned on Tuesday January 03, 2023 @12:35AM (#34228094)
But aren't we still pretending that crypto is a currency? So this means anytime I actually want to spend some of my own money, I need to go to the bank deposit box and also find at least one friend to help me out?

If we are all just taking these coins out of circulation to make them as hard as possible for anyone to access, including ourselves -- then what was the point of the entire thing again?

Re:Bitcoin worth $1.5B withdrawn from Coinbase in 48 hours on Saturday November 26, 2022 @09:57PM (#33759734)
Given the environmental cost I'd say that the value of bitcoin is quite literally negative. 0 is generous.
Re:How crypto goes to zero on Thursday November 24, 2022 @06:19AM (#33730063)
Oh and you are from one of those countries right?

No, your interest is most likely the same as almost everyone else in crypto - seeing the line go up.
