Ray Wanderlich tutorials are good quality, but I don’t really like the way he writes.

I recommend to look at this site, he’s a really “clean” teacher

No, it’s not like android or windows.

Sure thing...

When will Jetbrain have a decent interface builder?

Decent instrumentation?

Decent documentation viewer?

Can you get an object graph with JetBrains?

Xcode isn't perfect, but it's way better than JetBrains.

Just because one has one feature that one doesn't have, doesn't mean that Xcode beats JetBrain's IDE all day.

Apple always comes up with great soundtracks to their ads/infomercials. Sometimes made by themselves/exclusively for them.

I wish they would give developers a royalty free library for our App demo videos.

Re:MTK51 8051 Microcontroller Trainer Kit on Monday May 08, 2017 @04:44AM (#14290109)
I also learned assembly with the 8051.

My project was a floppy disk drive, a floppy disk drive that had an LCD, which totally makes sense...

No matter how much you "tweak" your photos, you are not getting the quality of a DSLR.

You are not getting the focal distance and zoom of a 70-200.

Totally not an ad!

When he says that the P10 camera is the same thing as the iPhone 7 Plus...

I thought it was for iOS from the name.

Just a tip.

15W TDP
Re:Documentary on Steve Jobs and NeXT on Wednesday May 03, 2017 @01:46AM (#14253342)
The 90's… really strange times when there was a split between "desktops" and "workstations", with different OS's, CPU's and what not!
Re:Introducing Surface Laptop on Tuesday May 02, 2017 @07:43PM (#14251754)
Simple: Microsoft lies every single time, the Apple haters "fall" for it, and the people that don't know anything about computers, do too.
Re:Introducing Surface Laptop on Tuesday May 02, 2017 @07:42PM (#14251752)
The 7th gen Core i3/i5/i7 have exactly the same performance of the 6th gen.

Also the MBP Touch Bar has a TDP that is much higher than the Surface Laptop, only the low end MBP has the same TDP of all the SL.

So, no, the Microsoft product is MUCH SLOWER.

Re:Is the F-35 our AT-AT? on Monday May 01, 2017 @02:21PM (#14240058)
I just think it's useless to discuss this.

We practically don't know anything besides a couple of photos, some information that might or might not be false, a few not myth-busted myths, and opinions from people that don't know much about it but want to voice it.

Re:How Google Could Collapse on Friday April 28, 2017 @04:12PM (#14222684)
This.

It has the slowest and most limited I/O in the world: voice, and people think it's the future?

Seriously?

Google Now on Tap (which they cut out, so it seems) was far more impressive innovation, and the way computers should work in the future.

Re:How Google Could Collapse on Friday April 28, 2017 @04:08PM (#14222657)
They already monetize it. Lots of companies pay for it.
Re:Swift architecture at Uber on Thursday April 27, 2017 @01:31AM (#14209390)
Because it's a high performance app that thousands of people depend daily for living.
Re:Swift architecture at Uber on Thursday April 27, 2017 @01:30AM (#14209380)
This, and package managers.

For example, node.js, many people say its popular because lots or webdevs knew JS already, but that's not even close to true, most people went to node.js because they found a couple of usable libraries on npm that gave the trust necessary to start the project.

Re:Swift architecture at Uber on Thursday April 27, 2017 @01:27AM (#14209368)
Protocol extensions.
The problem, is not the law, the problem is the bureau.

They keep attributing patents that are obvious and meaningless.

Not defending Trump, but what you expect?

"We are backing nuclear"

"This time it will be good"

Can you see a populist saying that?

Yes, but the drone won't have the satiability necessary for that resolving power. Nothing floating in the air has, even with OIS.

These are the cameras that need a sturdy tripod or powerful flashes to take advantage of.

More of a marketing tool than a reasonable photography tool.

1. It's not a game.

2. No it doesn't, I did everything.

3. It appears first result on the AppStore.

Google… I don't understand the praise of it's search engine.

For example, when I search for my App name, pirate sites come first, and when I search for functionality keywords, 2011 blog posts from Apps that have been disappeared off the map appear first.

When I was writing my thesis, Google Scholar offered no help. Engineering Village did everything.

Google emphasises too much on blogs and other ephemeral content, which as we all know, is often written in a careless manner, rarely maintained, and even just completely made-up. Google doesn't understand that, and I don't think it's accidental.

Good.

What you expect? You're not a big company like Google or Apple that owns the land.

Do you think that, for example, youtubers aren't farmers in the google's farm?

Or that web developers and content creators aren't farmers for the ad networks?

> profitable

Not really, one thing is revenue, another thing is profit.

Those spammy sites pay a lot of money to appear on those clickbait tables that appear at the end of articles. And without guarantee that the user (victim) buys anything.

What you have to optimize exactly?

If it runs fine on a iPhone 5, it runs better on an iPhone 7.

You are not writing drivers, you don't need to optimize anything.

Just look at Android, despite having 85% or more of the smartphone market...
What's the point?

They don't want you to come from a web page that you arrived from after a google search or a facebook ad.

They want you to go to the AppStore app first. And search there and see advertisements there.

Exactly, and even if they read, they will reject it and forget it.

However, in the old days, you could get away with fake news, and today, you can get away with fake news (even break the law, because it's the internet, and you can write in English and have .com or .us domain in whichever country you want), and it's even lucrative to do so!

Sure thing...
