Big companies usually use some sort of vulnerability response management software which is connected to your CMDB, ideally containing SBOMs of everything you use, and subscribed to various providers of CVEs. Those tools then map the CVEs to your SBOMs and you'll get alerts, security incidents and so on.
It's one year, unless something changed recently.
It's "login-walled" for me as well.

AI R&D efforts != productivity. I think it's fairly obvious that SOTA research is less affected by AI than writing another boilerplate react frontend.

My domain at Hetzner including mail costs less than 20€/year and all emails to <whatever>@mydomain.com which are not part of predefined mailboxes land in my [email protected] mailbox.

Source? Because I'm pretty sure it's not closed and Wikipedia seems to agree with me:

"No complete solution for chess in either of the two senses is known, nor is it expected that chess will be solved in the near future (if ever)".

Re:Zugzwang on Saturday May 02, 2026 @02:36PM (#47989111)
Wikipedia disagrees:

"There are three types of chess positions: either none, one, or both of the players would be at a disadvantage if it were their turn to move. The great majority of positions are of the first type. In chess literature, most writers call positions of the second type zugzwang, and the third type reciprocal zugzwang or mutual zugzwang. "

You're talking about mutual zugzwang

Or Europeans (:

Definitely not true for full stack developers with more than 1-2 YOE

Re:Kidnapped by Deutsche Bahn on Monday December 29, 2025 @11:28AM (#46422212)
When was this? Took the train (S1) last week and every single screen at the stations and in the train explains this in detail and there are probably 20 announcements both in German and English telling everybody which coach goes to the airport and which to Freising.

It's not that complicated.

The problem is that websites don't respect the browser language but translate based on IP. Which is stupid for people who want to read the original English content in English and not their native language.

Not to say that ServiceNow is great, but not being able to type the number into the search bar (top right) sounds more like a user issue than anything else.
Re:Workday project at Washington University hits $266M on Sunday December 14, 2025 @02:55PM (#46266221)
What? Unless someone actively removed the search field, you should have quite a big search field in the top right corner, where you can basically search for anything you'd need.

There are already several of such blog posts.

I use the .devcontainer¹ from the claude-code repository. It works great with VSC and let's you work in your docker container without any issues. And as long as you use some sort of version control (git) you cannot really lose anything.

So everything claude-flow¹ already does but worse (I guess?).

Compare the articel to the one posted 10m minutes earlier on CNBC with the title "Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and xAI granted up to $200 million for AI work from Defense Department".
Are you sure? From OPs comment:

>I justified the hours I invested by thinking I could search, download, and explore books directly from Claude Desktop.

Although you're right that it can be used for use cases like you're describing.

The biggest cooking / recipe app in Germany (Chefkoch) works perfectly fine for millions of people without any of the fluff. It's a list of ingredients and cooking steps, that's it. I don't know a single person that cooks who doesn't use it regularly.

May I ask why? (generally curious)

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025) on Sunday May 25, 2025 @07:07PM (#44092123)
Planning a hobby alpaca farm (3-4 alpacas), very early stage.

Everything from farm related stuff (water, food, shelter, etc.) to self-sufficiency (solar, etc.) to real time monitoring (which cameras, affecting power supply).

Who knows if it'll ever happen, but just planning everything in detail is a lot of fun. Especially with weird regulatory constraints where I'm living, there's a lot to watch out for.

Example: Solar panels at >3m height need building permits. Snow in winter means panels should be set up at a specific angle. So my initial plan of putting the panels on my 2.5m high carport doesn't work. Either lower carport, lower angle, different place or getting a building permit.

I just ask ChatGPT to provide the summary or whatever I need as a markdown file.

/s?

Because if you're referencing to a headline (without reading the article) that was on H a couple of days ago, it stated that 20-30% of the code in the repos was written by software. Software != AI

To quote wongarsu in the same post: "Considering that most of their software has been developed for decades and AI assistants have only started becoming useful in the last ~4 years it would be very surprising if 30% of their code is AI written. I doubt they even touched 30% of their code in the last 4 years. But what is perfectly plausible is that 30% of their code is written by code generators. Microsoft has a lot of interface code. All the windows DLLs that are just thin syscall interfaces, the COM and OLE interfaces in their office suite and everywhere else, whatever Office uses nowadays for interoperability to allow you to embed content of one product in another, whatever APIs their online products use, etc. In the leaked Windows XP source code it can be difficult to find the actual source code in between the boilerplate files containing repeated definitions, and in the decades since then the world has only leaned more into code generation."

It's right there in the article.

The anti immigration stance is not the problem in itself, it's a symptom of their xenophobic views.

"The party's prevailing ethnic and descent-based understanding of the people is not compatible with the free democratic basic order. It aims to exclude certain population groups from equal participation in society, to subject them to unequal treatment that does not conform to the constitution and thus to assign them a legally devalued status. Specifically, the AfD does not consider German citizens with a history of migration from Muslim countries, for example, to be equal members of the German people as defined by the party in ethnic terms."
