Kind of a dream for me. I suspect I will be heading down this path as I get older. Minimalism in relationships seem to be already occurring when I have lesser tolerance of "noise" in conversation, niceties, and especially conscious of finding common points of conversation, let alone agreements. I hadn't gone as far as to cull relationships due to lesser relevance, but it started to feel necessary to disengage more quickly and move on even after bumping into an old acquiantence having not met or spoken for many years. This is relevant to digital minimalism especially social media (as cited in the article), and if social media, why not also every other source of information that otherwise takes up our cognitive and emotional space?
If you want truly creative games, it won't be AAA game studios but indie game devs. AAA game studios play a different game (pun intended) and it will serve its audience and more especially, their shareholders. There is enough space in the world for them and truly creative indie game studios.
"When AI Writes the Code, Who Proves It Works?" <- AI itself? Lol. Of course, not.
Using AI to check AI is unavoidable. What us humans ought to do is *never* to give too much autonomy to AI. When we do so, we give up true intelligence that our work, lives and mankind depend on. Even when we mess up big time, as people, we are accountable for the mistakes that we carried out from our hands. Call it laziness, call it worship of an inferior product to man, perishing or getting important things destroyed because we handed off the autonomy to AI is a very sad thing.
Treat AI like fire. You want to know how to wield fire for your needs, and not ask the fire to decide for us where it should go and stay to help us stay warm..
You may begin with vengeance but I hope vengeance won't be your permanent fuel. It tends to lead with clouded and personal decisions, emotionally charged responses (like the very website copywriting itself) and... well, I have my fair share of grievances and a significant boost of confidence is to persevere in what is right against the wrong that I felt were done to me... but if I make my grievances my customers and supporters' problem, I am dragging them into my cesspool, spreading the negativity and it simply does not create an environment and spirit of productivity..
I really like how you set up your gig for your private little Midjourney. Use cases are the most important in all technology. I think about the blockchain craze. At the end of it, only the true use cases survive. The trend chasers and shallow perceptions eventually get left on the wayside. I think about the metaverse. Same thing.
I agree. Most of the time, the loud use cases are about coolness, humor and something crass. While I feel that AI at the end of it all is an ugly hack that needs more than just a bit of refining, the possible life-changing use cases are worth persevering for.
I get it. While I have been coding since I was in school, if it takes too long to ship, the grand outcome is... no game.
Moving forward though, I hope that AI will be better integrated only in areas that it should be – like forming up logic, building proper scaffolding and infrastructure, debugging, optimizing code... and even when art is involved, I hope it evolves from GenAI to operating within human-operated graphics software. That said, I believe that GenAI does not create. It replicates or meshes together the already known. I hope us humans would rely on GenAI at its correct level.
But I am glad you produced this game – GenAI or not. If it is fun to play, it has done its work!
