Re:Handles are the better pointers (2018) on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @11:53AM (#50354449)
my API always use handels, not because i design them that way, but in every iteration they get more and more handles
Re:AI is destroying my CS degree on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @11:39AM (#50354234)
if you only do CS for the job or the money you where wrong from the beginning. I do this for 45 years now and every year ther was a horror story how now tech will change everything. You have to empbrace the change and have fun in adapting. CS is nothing to sleep on. If you only do it for the money do something else.

Re:Tiny Basic for Arduino on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @11:34AM (#50354158)
Well the title is missleading a little bit. Technical it is a Arduino but only the 32 bit ARM Cortex-M Arduinos are supported. Not exactly what i had in mind reading Arduiono. If you intrestend in a fantastic BASIC for cheap RP2040 RP3250 look for MMBasic

Re:If IPv4 Were Land on Friday October 30, 2026 @03:42AM (#50300855)

Re:We're releasing the weights of Mistral Large 4 on Thursday October 29, 2026 @01:40PM (#50292996)
I am comparing Mistral and Claude for a company of programmer at the moment. Problem isn't so much the model but the harness and skills. Claude offers very good tools here. Mistral is behind. So a new model isn’t so interesting for me
Ok who can we sue of this bullshit? Companies forced this UEFI shit in us. So they should burn now. I am ready to grab torch and pitchforks
U have a typst template file mostly containig functions and variable defs. Then i have a docutil -> typst rewriter that makes use of the functions of the the template. i18n is a non problem for me, because i have source files containig the correct text, but i have created ttf fonts containing may international glyphs using fontutils. As sphinx and typst support unicode it just works. the PDF are then postprocessed and all glyphs not used are striped out of the pdf, also some pdf streams are removed to shrink the pdf
Posting a link to twitter should be illegal grr
I use mostly typst for pdf generating today i have written different frontends and connectors to transform everything into typ files and templates. I eben use it with sphinx as a backend

Re:eMudhra to Exit Global SSL/TLS Certificate Business on Thursday October 22, 2026 @12:05PM (#50197272)
i explain it by using Donald Trump: There is the atomic football (a case traveling with Trump so he can initiate a atomic war even while playing golf). The combination of the lock an the "Football" obviously is 0-0-0-0-0-0, But Tramp has problems remembering the order of the digits in the combination.
Question is: do i still use the integer mull command of my cpu or should i write it myself in c. I think the hardware still wins. But will it have a impact on future cpu ALU designs?
Re:Intuitive concurrent programming in any language on Saturday October 17, 2026 @11:56AM (#50132205)

Re:A Modern Web App in C on Monday October 12, 2026 @03:00PM (#50061153)
i also do that way, but i also have written my own webserver so i have no cgi interface. it serves files and provides "special" sites for the application written in. I use html and css as a frontend. nealy no js code in the html. Things i hate: - applicatin status handling - mixing html, css, js and c in one file - having no web "widgets" - having to make them by myself
