>Our current expectation is that AO3 will be down for a minimum of two weeks; however, it could take up to four weeks.
That seems crazy to me. I've been part of orgs that have had stuff like this happen and they've been mostly back within 24 hours. I'm curious if they had no plan for this sort of thing and if they're unwilling to bring in professional companies that help analyze and cleanup these sorts of issues.
>most people who win the lottery aren't rich forever.
Everytime that gets mentions someone points out it's mostly a myth that lottery winners lose it all shortly afterwards. There are a few high profile instances of people winning millions and then wasting it all and then having to go back to work within a couple of years, but it's not the norm.
No matter how many times this gets reposted, which seems like several times a year for the last few years, no they haven't figured out how to make a true blue rose.
>Both sides clearly thought it was meant to be "years" at the time it was signed.
That'd be the thing to prove, and it's not as cut and dried when the documentation and one of the parties both say otherwise.
What's up with the internet's sudden obsession with the Bayeux Tapestry? I've seen so many posts lately here and on reddit and other places.
>Moh's hardness scale whats a word with you.
Sure I assumed that was a given.
honestly, it's probably worth frequent bathroom visits if you don't get the gallbladder attacks.
I've seen people replace regular sponge with them for basically all of their cleaning needs. I constantly tell people, they work by being abrasive, so you're often slowly ruining whatever you're cleaning with them.
As someone that's been putting the surgery off for years, from what I can tell most people have basically zero symptoms afterwards, and those that do still aren't overly bothered by them, but there is a small but real percentage of people that have lots of digestive problems afterwards.
Like most titles that end in a ?, I'm going to assume the answer is no.
It's not on F-Droid, but I really like FBreader. You can get it directly from their website if you don't want to deal with the play store.
This seems like it'd be some sort of April Fools announcement.
My godfather that helped me get into computers used to make a decent living doing foxpro databases for companies in the 90s. We lost touch years ago, I always wondered if he stuck with it.
unless you had them put your name and phone number on it or something there is no downside to reselling it.
I used to make little meme generators with imagemagick before those were a thing, wish I had thought to make a job of it.
I'm still not convinced there is some product where the price/performance justifies it.
obviously there are folders there with files in them, but finding them using the built in tools is a huge pain in the ass and it's impossible to be confident you actually searched them all.
>The tapestry is really neat as a piece of... propaganda, for lack of a better term.
Honestly, I've been hearing so much about the Bayeux tapestry lately, that I'd almost believe that someone is being paid to promote it.
Where's the data that shows that this is about carplay and not just because Honda has a better reputation or other reasons unrelated to carplay?
>My most recent laptop purchase was a Macbook Pro, because the price/performance is just so lopsided with the price of memory pushing everything up to Apple-like prices, it didn't make sense to buy an x86 laptop.
I see people justify their Mac purchases this way all the time, but IMO it's just cope and not their actual primary reason for making that decision. I've never seen where the math actually worked out where the price/performance actually made Apple made sense.
As a dos/windows/linux users my whole life, I got asked by some family a few years back to get photos off of a mac from a deceased family member. I pulled off everything I could find, but I was never sure I actually found everything because I basically had to just search for different image types, but had no real way to browse to actual folders where things were stored.
I'm not even sure you'd need AI for that, there are only like 3 voices that are ever used.
>How do you solve geometry problems. For lots of them I visualize / rotate things im my head.
Not the other guy, but I can think about how they look without actually 'seeing' them in my mind.
>Here’s some evidence for you: when I close my eye, I see black.
This, I can imagine things, but it's like the idea of something, not a picture of it. Blows my mind when people tell me their imagination is like watching a movie.
Yeah as someone that doesn't participate in a bunch of math stuff, I was really confused because it mentions SAT and High School algebra, but isn't about High School SAT testing at all.
>Had the road been completed, Bryson City could have also become another Gatlinburg
All of these 'x to nowhere' projects are like that, people totally ignore that growth that would happen if the projects were actually built. Probably a few of them are silly projects, but usually there is an actual reason behind them that at least somewhat made sense.
I thought they closed whatever loophole that let compounding pharmacies do GLP1s, but I suppose online there are ways around that.
>Ask HN: How do you keep up with HN these days?
Who cares? There have been a couple of similar questions lately. Why do you care how other people use internet sites?
