Should be a harness feature actually.
What does their account age have to do with what they said?
Spoken like a true cis white american.
Big cities in France never vote far-right, and the PS (left) candidate is leading the polls in Paris' next election, so I'm really not sure what you're talking about. Gentrification is hardly a cause for far-right coming to power.
Yes because wasting 2 to 3 hours in traffic every day surely makes people more productive.
Re:Fujifilm X RAW STUDIO webapp clone on Saturday March 21, 2026 @02:06PM (#47469559)
What a great project. Amazing work, thank you for shipping this.
The idea that Paris is more dangerous than any big city in the US is laughable, and any person that thinks otherwise or that believes anything that Trump spouts is either gravely uneducated at best, or an absolute moron at worst.
Re:Digg.com is back on Wednesday August 20, 2025 @02:11PM (#44964530)
It has nothing to do with reddit being 'hardcore-leftist' as you put it, and more to do with the sad state of the US nowadays. Also, try saying anything remotely moderate on any right-leaning sub and see how that works. Really depends on the sub you're browsing.

Also, my anecdotal experience is very different than yours: not a day goes by without me reading some imbecilic comment about american exceptionalism, and where other idiots (I think you'd call them "patriots") gather to upvote/outbid said comment, particularly on large subs.

Re:Digg.com is back on Wednesday August 20, 2025 @01:41PM (#44964148)
If you consider reddit to be hardcore-leftist, you'll find plenty of like-minded people on 4chan.

Fairness related to other professions seems to be a very odd metric. I fail to see why software engineers should feel guilty about WFH because others can't.

I mean I'd love to be able to enjoy a nice sky or a beautiful view of the sea while I'm working but alas, my work tool is neither a plane nor a boat.

Wow. Thank you for bringing perspective, I wasn't aware of Aria's work (which is absolutely incredible) and of what's happening behind the scenes of VCV. It's very disappointing as the product is amazing and lowers the barrier to entry to the eurorack ecosystem.
Probably because you have absolutely no idea about what communism is.
Re:Firefox 78 on Tuesday June 30, 2020 @11:59AM (#23691402)
Yeah I try FF every 6 months to see if the scrolling has improved and each and every time I go back to using Chrome after a few days. I wouldn't say it's bad but it's noticeably worse than Chrome and I just can't get over it.

Exact same thing for FF on Android.

Re:GitHub Super Linter: one linter to rule them all on Thursday June 18, 2020 @01:50PM (#23565635)
> Java is going downhill(as in not much new code is being written in it)

This is just completely false.

I could link many other links showing Java as an extremely widespread language. There is just nothing comparable in the corporate world.

I see a lot of hate for AMP, and rightly so. I've been able to get rid of it completely on my Android device with two tricks:

- Changed my browser for Kiwi browser : very close to Chrome but with some neat features, one of them being to automatically redirect AMP links to original links

- deAMPify is a way to redirect AMP links from any other app than the browser

I really wish there was a way to opt-out of AMP as on iOS you're definitely SOL

Spot on. I'm a non-native english speaker, so my syntax sometimes leaves to be desired. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes but Gogs is self-hosted whereas Gitlab offers hosting solutions.
Re:State of web browsers in 2018 on Thursday December 06, 2018 @11:39AM (#18619534)
> There is no perceptible difference in speed of the browser

No difference that maybe you can perceive, but I for one find the scrolling a lot more sluggish on FF than on Chrome, and that's on a SD 845 device, which is the latest and supposedly greatest Qualcomm chip. I just can't use FF on Android, and that's a shame because the desktop version is very good.

Re:Newgrad: Post a job for new grads on Wednesday August 01, 2018 @01:48PM (#17664945)
The first 2 positions I looked at randomly were for experienced resources.

- Consulting Financial Analyst (Puget Sound Energy | Bellevue, WA) -> 7-10 years of experience in finance with at least 5 years of financial planning or strategic analysis for the consulting level.

- Business Administrator (Microsoft | Redmond, WA) -> 2 – 4 years of demonstrated relevant work experience in a fast-paced and complex environment

Not sure I see the point of this product if it doesn't even filter out these positions.

"I don't get the hate because I don't need more ports anyway."

See how this is anecdotal? Pretty sure if you were to have different use-cases you'd like your MPB a lot less.

Re:Do you need a VPN? on Monday October 30, 2017 @02:35PM (#15587668)
I've been using DO for my VPN needs and it's been a very good experience. You can start a 5$ Ubuntu droplet, which is more than enough to host OpenVPN, and then configure your VPN manually. Check here :

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-...

Or you can do it the easy way (but you won't learn as much) and run a bash script to configure everything automagically :

I really don't think they are 'a low-merit publication' and I'm very curious as to what you consider a 'high-merit publication'.
Yeah definitely! No later than yesterday was I asking myself how I could measure the latency of my bluetooth controller connected to my retropie setup. The latency seems quite high and I find myself struggling to play Super Mario World correctly. Now I can tell if it's a technical issue or more of a 'getting old' problem.

Thanks for this project, it's really cool.

Re:Optimize your Node app by upgrading Node.js on Thursday March 30, 2017 @11:17AM (#13996098)
Unrelated and I'm sorry for that, but do you know of a good way to get rid of the scroll hijacking? I didn't find a lot of extensions for Chrome and the one I tried wasn't working.

It blows my mind to encounter this bad practice on a developper related website.
