Last time I flew into O'hare it was incredible how it seemed like half the Ubers were Rav4s or Highlanders.

Freewebs!
Maybe AI will be able to give us a better FTP server in these industries

Very surprised they don’t charge you per GB of DNS traffic and per million DNS requests

There are a lot of companies that will buy your servers and lease them back to you.

That would create a perverse incentive to inflate the severity levels even more than they already are
It’s very good at that, but aeronautical engineering and maintenance is the last place you’d want that.
Yeah it’s great to point an AI at a very detailed and specific engineering manual and have it distilled down into bullet points. There’s certainly no room for information loss in that plan! /s
Re:The safest job from AI may be writing on Monday August 31, 2026 @02:22PM (#49512994)
"Humans are going to be significantly better at writing things intended for other humans to consume" is completely at odds with "And organizations care enough about the gap, and are willing to pay for the difference".

What did you move to and what type of workload, if I may ask?

We were just notified of a potential impact for basically every GCP region for compute engine, wondering if we'll see more widespread issues on other services soon.

I firmly believe if software engineering unionization ever starts to take hold, it'll begin with game developers.

There's a lot of money in gaming but the workers are treated like shit, as you pointed out.

Remember when Microsoft held a mock funeral for the iPhone? They’re all bark no bite.

It's imperceptible because the hardware has gotten so much faster. This would be like a top fuel dragster the size of a freight train.

The engine is incredibly powerful but the overall performance is hindered by the size of the overall vehicle not being optimized around it.

Why can't we just water down the gasoline? /s
Logically that probably makes sense, but it would require everyone in the chain of command agreeing to that policy, and there’s no way that would ever happen from a liability standpoint.
Java or Bedrock edition, and have you tried logging into your EntraID Microsoft Teams for Xbox account lately? Make sure to check the box to keep you logged in!

The worst part of Ansible is data manipulation, what would be an easy dictionary operation in Python is a huge mix of lookups in Ansible.

Incredibly frustrating that the data you want is right there but you can't easily grab it.

Re:Copy Fail – CVE-2026-31431 on Wednesday April 29, 2026 @03:18PM (#47953059)
There's nothing specific about this related to Python, that's just demonstrating how it works.

This is usable anywhere on an affected Kernel version

Re:Education must go beyond the mere production of words on Saturday April 25, 2026 @09:02AM (#47901207)
The “normies”? What does that mean in this context?
Yeah and that type of work bid usually goes to huge conglomerates. A local mom and pop electrician shop isn’t going to be building a datacenter, it’ll be something like Siemens.
What is the contingency/continuity plan if the single controller becomes incapacitated while on duty with no warning to pilots?
I admit I'm incredibly naive on this subject, but what makes it so hard to track an object as large as an aircraft carrier when starting from a known position such as a naval port?
What is the point of a device like this if the only difference is form factor? Why wouldn't someone just buy a pre-configured gaming PC?

The “isn’t just” part is a dead giveaway almost always.

Not OP but from my experience, the LEGO I had in a bin since I was a kid still fit perfectly with LEGO I'm buying for my kids 30 years later. That's unbelievably impressive to me.
I can’t tell if you’re joking or seriously trying to justify running red lights.
