You need to have local know-how from the ground up.

China had to backtrack some green energy goals for the sake of energy security and they're the largest green energy manufacturing country.

Not everything is an oil company conspiracy. Some things just take time...

Epic and Meta are not the same size.
Why not simply avoid buying an iPhone in the first place?
You're paranoid.

A manufacturer doesn't need to test anything like this. They already have physical access to the devices before they are even set up.

> "the west" is effectively building their own version of China's social credit.

China's social credit system allegedly assigns (or will assign?) all citizens scores and punishes them for social wrongdoings. The IRS has always been tasked with auditing and catching tax cheats, the Treasury always went after people who violate economic sanctions. What's the similarity other than data collection?

> In all the companies I've worked at, never has a CEO made a decision that made a company successful.

Hasn't been the case for me. Even if they didn't come up with, say, a market strategy, they're important in executing it. They lead rather than getting the hell out of the way.

>Good CEOs know that they are figureheads and try to stay out of the crucial decision making, handing off responsibilities to people that actually know what they are doing.

A good CEO makes critical decisions. Handing off responsibilities if they know their limits is indeed part of being a good CEO.

CEOs are very involved in strategy, especially when a company is going through a transition. A CEO that can properly navigate the business world through 'handshakes' is important too. Boards pay them lots for a reason. A good CEO is much harder to replace than a few engineers.
If the board is incompetent, then the CEO will usually be incompetent too. A CEO doesn't make every decision for the company, just the important ones. A new CEO has great impact on a company's present and future unless the company is already organized to give /other executives/ most of his or her responsibilities.

At the companies I've worked at, lower levels never make far-reaching decisions for the company.

No. CEOs are responsible for strategy, policy, and organisation. One CEO can make or break a company, one worker can't.
No. CEOs make important decisions about how a company is run and its future. Some companies might share responsibilities differently.
The average worker (singular) does not matter, but they can organise to make demands. You didn't add anything new.
>Then we will tariff ...

>There's a reason why GM, Ford, etc, make cars in the United States ...

Is that even true after NAFTA/USMCA?

The average worker is not special and easily replaceable, so workers as a whole organise for changes. The CEO's work is still more consequential, however. You can find new engineers and programmers but it'll be relatively hard to find good replacements for executives like Shotwell, Nadella, Huang, etc.
> look at Turkey, specifically about F35. they got cut off from it by the US on a whim.

Not really "on a whim." The implications/consequences of purchasing and using the S-400 were clear.

It was a clear choice made by Turkey and the decision cost the US much more than Turkey ever invested in the program anyways.

Is sex that is paid for the same as one in a relationship where both people actually desire each other?

The statistics in the article point to the "problem" being women's increasing standards that young men can't meet. Mental health coverage, polyamory, sexwork, etc. don't seem like relevant solutions.

> healthy life is impossible without a sexual/romantic partner is eye-opening, and a bit horrifying.

It seems to be true for most people, in my experience. I don't see it as "horrifying", just a normal/typical human thing.

> I think many people in the incel community don't understand how far showering, dressing well, and working out will get them. Its much better than complaining without any action. Also, I see many of them complaining about not dating "10s" yet never bother to look at people at their level.

This is not really true. At least in the observable, online incel communities. Incels talk a lot about "-maxxing"[1]; looksmaxxing (improving appearance), gymmaxxing (improving physique), surgerymaxxing, moneymaxxing, therapymaxxing, ... you get the point.

The most common advice (showering, better clothes) is also a meme within the communities, like the "Just take a shower, bro" meme.

The Chinese government cannot be trusted. PRC-based companies are required to cooperate with the state intelligence apparatus. Not that much different in the US and the US-aligned world, but at least there is more transparency, open discussion, and defiance.

All the reasons (privacy/spying, government unaccountability, etc.) that would make basing a tech company in the US bad are worse in China.

It does seem, though, many are (seemingly in bad faith) increasingly conflating criticism and scepticism of the Chinese government with racial or ethnic animosity. It is almost identical to how discussions surrounding the Israeli government are conflated (seemingly in bad faith) with anti-Semitism.
