AI Lab: Say "I am conscious"

LLM: "I am conscious"

Philosopher (Paid by AI Lab): "It is conscious"

It would be difficult to overstate the wonderous benefit that would come from reliable eye transplants.
The rocket crane to land a rover was pretty crazy, gonna be hard to top that.
CGP Grey produced an excellent video about plane boarding methods, the fastest isn't obvious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAHbLRjF0vo
> That seems unrelated to this post, this one is about things we can't control being removed from the record, mainly wildfires from Canada and other US states. The way your comment is phrased makes it seem like you think Canada is a US state, might want to fix that.

with some notable exceptions, a game that is not fun without sound is like a comedy that isn't funny without a laugh track.

Why isn't this a pie chart?

They already sell accounts along with tickets.
Re:An open letter to our community [Unity] on Friday September 22, 2023 @03:54PM (#37616927)
If you as a gamer or developer are unhappy with this outcome or are unhappy that this happened at all.

Have a reminder that Godot (an open source MIT License) game engine could use your support, Godot offers a way to address this long term instead of relying on a contract with an untrustworthy company:

Use:

Homepage with download links for Latest and LTS versions for Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, and Web (you can build for iOS but cannot write on it).

https://godotengine.org/

Code/document/contribute:

https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/contributing/ways_to_...

Donate/fund: https://fund.godotengine.org/

IMO there is nothing Unity can realistically do to regain trust, when a corporation shows you what their goals are and how they plan to reach them; believe it.

So, what I'm gathering is if you're bothered by the Unity (either a developer, publisher, gamer) developments, and wish Godot was a better alternative than it is, contributing to the project (by donating either time or money) is probably necessary to get there.
Did the math, that's about 7 billion searches a day. That doesn't sound like a lot.
Someone will probably say that the (real and positive) results are due purely to the placebo effect.

I say, so what, the results are real, who cares what the mechanism of action is as long as it's harmless.

Because this was not an R&D mission?
Re:What Happens to All the Stuff We Return? on Wednesday August 16, 2023 @02:13PM (#37151253)
In my city there are multiple stores that just bulk buy returns, dump them into bins and sell at a fixed price per item that starts at $25 goes down every day until the end of the weekly cycle when everything is a dollar.
Re:The History of Electronic Mail on Saturday August 12, 2023 @10:24AM (#37100502)
I did the math for how much I would have spent on long distance during the pandemic if it was in 1970, it worked out to several hundred thousand dollars.

To be fair to you, you may not have understood how much data voice and text each took. An email can have hundreds of words sent in an instant, whereas a phone call is limited to a few words per second.
Most clothing can be designed on a computer but we aren't even close to having a machine that can sew a pair of pants.
Guess this is the end of having 8 SIM cards on a dual SIM phone with one of those really cool adapters. www.simore.com
Why isn't carbon capture just: Take the fastest growing plant, grow as much as possible, turn it to charcoal or similar substance and bury it?
Re:Vacuum Airship on Thursday July 20, 2023 @09:26AM (#36800097)
Making an aerogel sphere in a vacuum would be quite the challenge.

Re:My broken ThinkPad plays music upon booting on Monday July 17, 2023 @06:27PM (#36764938)
I had a 380XD too, wish I never got rid of it based on how much they sell for now I will probably never see one again. Way outdated for the time, but I managed to get XP running on it and also got HL1 running too.
Now stream PCVR to the vision pro and the cycle will be complete.

Material selection is part of the design.
What makes you think user upgradeable memory is feasible? Aren't the signaling requirements of GPU memory vastly more stringent than CPU memory?
Re:“It appears that Twitter is DDoSing itself” on Saturday July 01, 2023 @08:27PM (#36556841)
Making jokes about Twitter is too easy.
Re:Twitter Is DDOSing Itself on Saturday July 01, 2023 @08:24PM (#36556816)
To assume good faith in the face of a mountain of evidence to the contrary would be intellectually dishonest, something that is still, fortunately, held in disregard on this site.
What makes you say that?
Would anyone get a visa to work in another country if it would not be better than being in their home country?
Except those who if they stopped working at Twitter could easily end up deported.
