As of their latest reporting I could find on the fda site, 3.3B out of their 7.2B budget comes from "user fees", so the more drugs are sold, the more they get back in user fees.

This sounds more like a post by the Senior Dev that you don't want on your team. It's a commit message, use whatever is quickest/easiest for you...

Cheapo 4k 60hz Spectre tv from walmart. Best purchase I've made in years. Plug in my favorite streaming device and when it gets old and slow I just chuck it and buy another $20-50 device instead of having to buy a whole TV.

Odd article considering everything is still software locked to the phone. Sure it's easier to repair, but if you get your parts from anywhere else than apple's program directly, a lot of features will stop working.
Hugh Jeffreys made a video interchanging parts on two brand new iphone's and it disabled a lot of things including auto-brightness.

Imagine when you have to "activate" your tv to use it.

You can still get cheap ones. And by cheap I mean TLC/Hisense level quality displays. Walmart sells Sceptre's for low prices and have no smart features, best purchase I've made in years.
We use a lot of Rokus here and my issue isn't the ads, its that every Roku built-in TV gets REALLY slow after a few updates, so now it's just easier to chuck a $20-30 device instead of having to buy an entire $300+TV.
Sure I don't get 120Hz fancyness but at least it's 4k and the picture is good enough for my consoles.
Re:Netflix’s Prices Are Rising Faster Than Cable

This is showing basic cable in the 20-30 range? What company is giving out those prices? Even at promo prices, which are going go up like crazy once the promo period is over, basic cable is still higher, and they have added costs like local broadcast station charges.
