If the 85% gets larger, so does the 15%. Both sides gain when the cost increases.

The title is far more general than what you actually mean. What's the reason for that if not click bait?

Does that go for Carta Marketplace also? Asking because it seems to be a separate business.
Do you have any evidence at all to this assertion?

Where are these people learning tailwind without learning css?

How would you define abstraction then?

Can someone explain why this is incorrect? I thought a hard drive is typically what one would defrag

It's crazy how much energy is spent trying to constrain free information flow.
Re:MVC frameworks aren't dinosaurs but sharks on Monday May 09, 2022 @01:36PM (#31317159)
Is the argument that because it's a shark, we should accept that and avoid feeding any contenders?

Was the shark perfect at its inception or did it adapt as all things do?

Doesn't its shark-ness come by virtue of surviving against the best efforts of challengers through time?

Isn't that continual evolution at least in part dependent on a continuum of challengers?

Don't we implicitly give up on searching for something that could potentially overtake the shark by dogmatically accepting the shark's shark-ness?

Free will is still a useful abstraction

It's all abstractions provided via interfaces, whether programmatic or graphical.
I think you missed the point about Japanese American internment.
What would a workflow look like with Figma?
Re:HTML and CSS techniques to reduce your JavaScript on Friday June 04, 2021 @10:29AM (#27393965)
Does anyone know if changing the display type of table elements (table, tr, td, etc.) to `block` or `flex` affect accessibility in any way? I would hope that the semantic structure of the tags would override changes on the styling level, but never been able to find a solid answer.

OR maybe that's just how markets work
Re:Google and Apple attacked on app store 'monopoly' on Friday April 23, 2021 @09:29PM (#26921376)
TBH this is reasonable. I'm not on the side of Apple, but the monopoly claim is ridiculous to me.

Android exists

How is the scalability of the analogy relevant?

Re:Google and Apple attacked on app store 'monopoly' on Friday April 23, 2021 @09:20PM (#26921303)
If I build a shopping center that gets tons of foot traffic, pay to build the amenities and security, and then charge stores rent, it doesn't suddenly become a monopoly when the tenants feel that the rent is too high.

This started with the 3, which I returned for that reason, opting to stick with my Pixel 2 XL. I bought it at launch, and it still lasts me over a day with full charge.
It's not a design system. It's documentation/best practices around common UI components that you'd find in most design systems.
Re:I Got a Job Two Weeks After My Coding Bootcamp on Wednesday July 22, 2020 @10:03AM (#23917086)
> The concept is very simple. A junior dev graduating from a bootcamp can create UI's, CRUD, etc. but should not be expected to have expertise in algorithms.

I find the idea that "you should expect less out of bootcamp grads" more harmful than helpful. The stigma of coming from a bootcamp is real in software, and this reinforces it. In my experience, there are certainly bootcamp grads out there who have strong algorithm skills.

To what end?
