I get loads of them when I'm on a Netsweeper filtered network... pretty much any time any asset a page loads is from a blocked site (social media pixels normally).

On the new Windows 365 Link thin client I think it is, not sure about normal builds of Windows though?

I'd hazard a guess that it's based on what the LLM can "design" without actually being able to see it or have taste and it still reliably look fine to humans.

Works until someone can afford a better and more expensive AI tool, or can afford to pay a knowledgeable human to help them answer.

When you have a simple tool you have written for yourself, that you need to be reliable and accessible but also that you don't use frequently enough that it's worth the bother of running on your own server with all of that setup and ongoing maintenance.
Is this open source?
To add to this, if you use Zoho's free plan this can cost you literally nothing.

Has someone got a guide they can link that is easy enough to understand for service administrators that aren't doing anything complicated?

Also, can I request these risk assessments off companies myself?

By the sounds of it, if there was a painless way of doing it, he would probably be fine with this.

If he consented when he was alive, I don't see how it could be moral to ignore his wishes and let more people die as a result.

I guess laws will get in the way of this kind of thing though.

There's not even a privacy notice on the website, is that legal?

Is there some document somewhere that lists all the potential ways of doing stuff like this?

AIs don't behave. They are a lot of fancy maths. Their creators can behave in ethical or moral ways though when they create these models.

= not to say that the people that work on AI are not incredibly talented, but more that it's not human

I know the law is often behind the trend because of the rate tech develops, but surely the old analogy for all technology is postal mail.

Last time I checked, the postal service had no responsibility or requirement that they don't distribute certain messages or ideas? In some cases the government can ask to intercept them, but there's no regulation requiring them to scan letters for banned content.

Why don't these same rules apply to online technology?

I doubt the cert issue is on your end, it appears whenever OpenDNS (Cisco Umbrella) tries to intercept any site when it blocks it.

Someone more experienced that me could probably comment on this more, but theoretically is it possible for Electron production builds to become more efficient by having a much longer build process and stripping out all the unnecessary parts of Chromium?
Re:Pi-hole v6 on Tuesday February 18, 2025 @03:28PM (#43094635)
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I've got a semi-obscure DNS question.

I'd like to use Cloudflare's Zero Trust DNS filtering with DoH by running a DNS proxy on my network.

I can get this to work great with github.com/adguardTeam/dnsproxy (running on a Pi 4B) but what I would really like is to have different devices (based on their IP on the network) get their queries forwarded onto a different DoH upstream.

Is this possible in a simple way?

Isn't a TV that permanently shows HDMI input a big monitor?

Weirdly they always seem to be more expensive than a TV though.

Have you looked at some of the alternative firmwares for older Numworks models?

Not a mac user, but is there really not a bootable USB at the very least that you can use for this rather than needing another Mac?

The linked software only blocks 18+ content, and I think it's reasonable for parents to monitor if their child accesses that kind of content??
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Japanese culture valued the elderly a lot more than in the west, and therefore stuff like this would be funded by the government?
Re:WordPress Is in Trouble on Monday January 13, 2025 @03:48PM (#42689030)
You aren't wrong, but if you use Cloudflare Pages with a static site the only job you have to do for a static site is make sure your Cloudflare account is secure with 2fa etc. Cloudflare will handle the security of everything else.

If you have Wordpress exposed to the internet, there's a lot more security stuff to deal with.

Ok, can you let me know if they say it's valid, as if it is considered valid I'll try again with investigating and reporting some issues I found.
Re:How to Bypass WhatsApp Web's Locked Chat Feature on Saturday December 07, 2024 @01:08PM (#42351534)
A lot of WhatsApp's features are enforced client-side, which means on Web they just break with DevTools.

I've done some research into this (haven't published it) but also can't get Facebook's bug bounty report tool to work (whenever I create a facebook account it gets autobanned) so I haven't been able to report them either. I wonder if stuff like this would be eligible, I don't see why it wouldn't.

Re:Google turns Android into a desktop OS in 5 steps on Wednesday November 20, 2024 @04:06PM (#42198109)
Why do quality of life ML features (like the multitasking assistance mentioned) have to be branded the same as the LLMs and chatbots the companies release?

Apple does this with Siri Suggestions and this author wants Google to follow this trend.

I find this is just confusing, but then again I don't work in marketing.

I'm really liking this. Out of interest did you have any trouble with the play store review process for getting users to turn on developer mode?
Re:Apple Introduced iPhone Reboot Code Which Is Locking Out Cops on Saturday November 09, 2024 @12:08PM (#42095496)
I don't think this is correct, Jamf has a "Clear Passcode" option that I have used with success, although it does require the device to have an internet connection.

This will unlock the device.

The maps experience was terrible, if the search isn't terrible, it will survive.
