It’s not the entry level mode, that’s the base iPad.
LCD iPhones defo had this. I thought it was to do with panel supplier
Im usually big on refresh rates but this one doesn’t bother me. I move between 60hz iPads and iPhone to 120hz iPad Pros and my mind doesn’t register a difference between them.
I can see the 120hz nice scroll when I’m paying attention but I’m normal use on these devices I forget about it. Basically it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me but I agree it should probably be the standard
You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
So much character in these old interfaces.
They serve as a home hub or thread router or whatever. I have a HomePod mini and it acts as the hub for those without additional vendor specific hardware.
I always get thread and matter mixed up but it relates to that
The drum stops rotating while cycled is paused
I’m not sure you can even buy top loaders in the uk.
Front loaders can go into kitchens which is usually where washing machine is located. They can be ‘built into’ cupboards etc.
Mines in my garage and I have a separate drier which sits on top of the washing machine..
So it’s probably largely space and location concerns.
It depends what you mean by ‘listening’. If you look at how this actually works - it’s basically only ever looking for a certain waveform
‘Listening’ sort of implies intelligence is paying attention to what is said. It’s more ‘hearing’ than ‘listening’
There are documents on how these activation words work
Also, restaurant staff only earn $2 an hour!? I didn’t realise wages were that low..! Maybe I should be tipping every time.
Tipping was a pain while travelling in the USA. The main cost was charged to card on purchase straight away but tips would come out later. Made splitting charges between two people a right pain.
I don’t mind tipping for good service but not when someone did the bare minimum with a face like a slapped arse the whole time
Get a soldering iron and fix! I did. It’s sort of fun in a way. Shouldn’t have to do it, sure, but it saves you buying more and more. You could fix the fleet!
I don’t want to believe it but wouldn’t surprise me. I pick up my old iPhone 7 and it feels so slick and fast, it 13 mini on iOS 26 is fast in some places but infuriatingly laggy in others. Battery health 90%.
What frustrates me is that the CPUs are so powerful but somehow 5 years down the line are slow in basic UI navigation.
In the last couple of years in the uk, address forms ask for you street address and the rest will autocomplete from there - city, postcode. Makes things a lot easier in the way the author suggests
I’ve only managed to get halfway through this. I don’t tend to read ‘AI BAD’ but this was really insightful and thoughtful.
A lot of modern games ‘feel’ the same to me now. Same sort of lighting, blur.. even the texture loading and pop in. They all sort of blend into one mess.
I liked when games all felt very distinctly different and I feel like part of that was that they all varied on ‘engine’
Going back to some old machines with this hardware and they feel rapid compared to now. Instant UI response
Anecdotal but the three times I’ve been in the states recently I come away feeling like trash. When I’m there I crave salads and green food pretty fast.
It feels like, as a tourist, unless you’re making food yourself from scratch the ingredients used in most food are not good for you.
I don’t feel that way holidaying in other countries..
Actually I don’t mind the way it looks. Performance seems even better.. but it has destroyed my battery life.
I find it hard to believe it’s the transparencies causing the issue though as even just watching a video, it’s worse.
I don’t have an issue at all.. I have swipe turned off..
Updated my 13 mini. Performance is fine / maybe better.. but battery. Tanked. How true is the ‘it takes days for reindexing’ statement?
The ‘improved’ versions sound muffled like I have water in my ears. Plus I’d rather hear the game as it was designed, artefacts and all.
There’s some that have high resolution. There were some consumer 1080i sets I think.
I have one you can recharge wirelessly. Forget the brand but it’s been working well
In the EU beams cast light off to the side of the road and not into incoming traffic.
When we go from uk to Europe for example we have to fit deflector stickers to the headlights to alter the beam so we don’t dazzle drivers on the other side of the road.
In the us I don’t think you have this. Driving at night in the USA is horribl, like a thousands subs beaming directly into your eyes.
It isn’t THAT bad here here. It’s getting worse with bright lights and tall cars sure but it’s not on the same level of the USA due to the beam shape
The Photos app has a delicates option - not that I want to piss on your parade but the functionality is already present? Or am I missing something?
