LLM first means we will test it against our libraries, best practices and potentially even create a new language for it.
Then programming in the classical sense won't exist anymore.
The ara of code will end when we will deploy the first code written with LLM to write new code.
Javallm or #llm.
It might be full of examples for a LLM, it might focus on analyzing logic and fixing it on a higher level, until the AI is good enough to self write, evaluate and deploy it.
After that it will become no longer understandable by us and researchers will start analyzing it after it was written.
Historians will start tracking when ai started to create more efficient abstractions etc.
The energy market got plenty of inefficiency through the fast build out of renewable that the battery projects, calculating with this excess are getting build but not fast enough.
There are already a few projects at old coal plants were they have connectivity.
And with the ev batteries alone there will be used but still very good batteries hitting this market very soon. Equivalent to the whole water energy storage of Germany
We are not very good in providing anything reasonable today because capitalism is still way to strong and manual laber still way to necessary.
Nonetheless look at my country Germany: we are a social state. Plenty of people get 'free' money and it works.
The other good thing: there are plenty of people who know what good is (good art etc) but are not able to draw. The can also express themselves. AI as a tool.
If we as society discover that there will be no really new music or art happening I don't know what we will do.
Plenty of people are well entertained with crap anyway.
The question to me was more what happens after? Terrorism inside Russia for years? Low bip for decades?
Nato setting a clear border
The progress doesn't slow down right now at all.
This is probably one of the most exciting developments in the world besides the Internet.
And Geminis news regarding the 1 million token window shows were we are going.
This will impact a lot of people faster than a lot of people realize
Just this week sd audio model can make good audio effects like doors etc.
If this continues (and it seems it will) it will change the industry tremendously.
We were not even able to just create random videos by just text promoting a few years back and now this.
The progress is crazy.
Why do you dismiss this?
Nonetheless while still underwhelming in comparison to gpt-4 (excluding this announcement as I haven't tried it yet), alpha go, zero and especially fold were tremendous!
It can also be a good alternative for fine-tuning.
And the use case of a code base is a good example: if the ai understands the whole context, it can do basically everything.
Let me pay 5€ for a android app rewritten into iOS.
CharGPT for writing emails to bigger audiences, Gramma correction.
Image generator for fun.
LLM for Feature Extraction from random text like a website or PDF (llama).
And a LLM who only needs to call to a few API calls isn't hard.
Very little need perfect accuracy and for that we still have classical software.
