Thank you!

In practice I find the Gemini models to be the worst for coding and design.

Recommendations?

The irony is that the design and UX of the website is terrible.
Re:A sane but bull case on Clawdbot / OpenClaw on Wednesday February 04, 2026 @11:24AM (#46887798)
Perhaps it's marketing to attract those who wear sweatpants to school. The author's other posts are written normally.
They took an investment from a new startup (Quantum Leap Research) focused on national security.
If it is not already, swatting someone should be considered a serious offense, like calling in a bomb threat. Baiting emergency police services to handle personal disputes is absolutely ridiculous.
lol
Re:ReMarkable launch Paper Pro, a colour e-ink tablet on Wednesday September 04, 2024 @08:50AM (#41445028)
Can it be used completely offline, without an account, etc?

I finished reading it, wondering the same thing!
Re:Side channel vuln in Infineon crypto library on Tuesday September 03, 2024 @06:31PM (#41439992)
Is that relevant? The secret is the value.

Checked out the video. Looks cool!

Just an FYI,

https://www.threadquilt.com/search?topic=openbsd

Throws a 500 and displays a stack trace of the server.

When a power supply gets old, wonky things start happening and the computer becomes unstable in weird ways. I am not sure the computer/power metaphors are the best fit.
Re:Llama3 implemented from scratch on Sunday May 19, 2024 @03:50PM (#40409313)
It's the cool thing to do now...
Re:GPT-4o on Monday May 13, 2024 @02:51PM (#40346829)
"OpenAI is still working in GPT-4-level models."

This may or may not be true - just because we haven't seen GPT-level-5 capabilities, does not mean that it does not yet exist. It is highly unlikely that what they ship is actually the full capability of what they have access to.

Re:Apple introduces M4 chip on Friday May 10, 2024 @04:43PM (#40323600)
"Which would be at odds with sending data up to the cloud for processing"

I don't think there is enough information here for that to be a true claim - it is possible to send the input used for inference, to the cloud, while computing the result locally. It is also possible to store the input used for inference while offline, and send that later when the device is online.

Highly recommend Ricky Ryan. Argentian DJ.

His textures mixes are a bit more laid back, perfect for the early morning: https://m.soundcloud.com/rickyryan/sets/textures

His mixtapes mixes are a bit more clubby, but still not too fast: https://m.soundcloud.com/rickyryan/sets/mixtapes

He releases a polished mix once a month, and he's been DJing for a very long time.

Speaking from personal experience, I moved from VSCode to Doom Emacs a year ago, and the on-ramp wasn't nearly long or as tough as I thought. The defaults are good, and anything else that I customized I actually just used ChatGPT/GPT-4 to generate it. It took about a month to get used to the new setup. With LSP/Magit, it feels like I'm not missing out on much from what VSCode offered, and then whenever I want to personalize it, I can. For a creative person (which I'd argue most developers are, kind of by definition), it's fun.

It would be cool to see a screenshot.

Other cross-platform alternatives:

Bitwig (1 month free trial, I believe)

Reaper (can re-'evaluate' forever) - better for mixing than producing IMO

My eyes can't ignore the little left-facing chevron flying upward at the end of the video loop (on the right of the video).

Valve may not be a hardware company on the scale of Apple, but they do design/prototype/create/repair hardware products. Also, they do a lot more than just distribute software [0].

Re:Opusmodus: Common Lisp Music Composition System on Wednesday November 08, 2023 @06:33PM (#38198805)
I agree. When possible/working with sound, I would take a tactile experience (right-brain/feel?) over a mathematical/analytical experience (left-brain/logic?). I also don't know music theory and I haven't dedicated time to learn math, so I lean on my intuition more than anything.
Re:Northlight makes Alan Wake 2 shine on Tuesday November 07, 2023 @05:13PM (#38183733)
I want to read it, but I don't want any spoilers (or, remove any surprise). I'll check it out after I've played the game!
I don't think it's working for me (none of the keybinds work, and I don't see the fps counter). Brave, script-blocking disabled.
