PolCPP

I pay for it (mostly because they grandfathered me from the old prices)!

I used to use windsurf as my main editor until they changed their pricing model. Now i use it just to burn my weekly tokens on fable/astra if i remember to that on a task and that's it.

Does it work all the time? I'm using tip and had scrollback stop working after a long ssh session.
Re:Free high-performance cross-platform game engine on Friday April 18, 2025 @12:42PM (#43729703)
The only options i see are:

- Give the modding tools for free with the game (like many games do anyway). You're commercializing the game no the modding tools - Make the tools defold-free ? So it reads the game data but its not defold. - Tools for free but charge for support/warranty?, Clause 9 lets you sell support/warranty; you just can’t charge for the software license itself.

They don't want to depend on third party companies to complete their stack offering on the datacenter. It's the same way as why Nvidia wanted ARM, but on the other direction (CPU/GPU)

And ironically after he left AMD started improving on the drivers

IIRC Sometimes some of these units are tied to a mortgage. Renting it at a reasonable price could make the price of the unit to drop making the money lender wanting to renegotiate the mortgage contract.

Re:Docker for Mac Without Docker Desktop on Friday January 28, 2022 @05:42PM (#30121475)
ARM Ubuntu or X86?
Re:Docker for Mac Without Docker Desktop on Friday January 28, 2022 @02:43PM (#30119391)
You'll get the same issues, since utm uses qemu. Tried it a few days ago with x64 linux only to have the os crash while copying stuff over smb
The 13" one (9310) is a freaking toaster. Keyboard can easily reach 43ºC+ on the left side
Re:Apple M1 Max Geekbench Score on Thursday October 21, 2021 @10:55AM (#28945367)
No delamination issues with the screen?

From what i see the Clang difference mostly looks like its because it is a 10 core cpu (with 2 efficiency ones at that), vs a 16 core. (I'm seeing 104 klines/sec vs 180.5), the 5800x seems to hit 94-96klines/sec

Kinda wish they had a m1 max focused on extra cpu cores rather than gpu cores tbh

Here: Install this, will fix how command+tab works and it's actively developed.

If it's on a laptop: Fractional scaling. On wayland you can get some blurry apps (iirc xwayland apps) and on xps 13" (unless its the oled probably with it's weird resolution) integer scaling isn't good enough tbh
Re:The Framework is the most exciting laptop I've used on Tuesday September 21, 2021 @08:17PM (#28611682)
How are thermals though?

My xps 13 with 2 fans can get hot enough to be unconfortable, so i can't imagine how it will be with a single fan

IntelliJ: Thats your problem.

Everytime i tried to run their IDE's on mac os i gave up because the abysmal typing/scroll performance.

I think textmate broke my brain back in the day, can't stand any editor that can't run at 60fps. (unless it's vim/nano on ssh)

Re:My MacBook Pro had over 10k USD in repairs on Wednesday August 25, 2021 @04:37PM (#28306602)
Because someone decided it was better to be opaque on the iPhone and do that than do the same thing they had on macs and throw a warning when the battery was on bad state.

At least all the drama ended with having a warning and a toggle for battery status.

Theres not even a need to do that, upload the encrypted image and its neuralhash.
The sad part is that the M1 Macs are like 2 generations ahead or more from the competition.

I'm replacing my m1 air for an xps 13 and boy this thing can get scorching hot.

On the other side, the keyboard is probably one of the best ones i've ever used on a laptop.

Why change now when the damage is already done? People who know how bad this can turn probably already left or are figuring out how to leave Apple's ecosystem.
Why Graphene instead of Calyx? The later seems to be more user friendly (asking because i'm looking into it)
You could generate hash on device, send it to server alongside the file, once validated delete hash or create decoding voucher.
Re:Why you should NOT use NativeScript on Monday April 12, 2021 @05:44PM (#26785574)
Actually i think RN would be better for that, NS has a lot of small quirks.

Tbh when you get used to those quirks NS can work pretty well.

But to be honest i think that a big part of Nativescript's future will be related to that new ionic integration. Having real web apps with native API access from JS should be awesome.

Re:Why Zig when there is already C++, D, and Rust? on Friday January 15, 2021 @07:08PM (#25798397)
So for someone who's not actively into the systems programming ecosystem, how used is Zig (niche i guess?), and how different is it to nim? Since i don't see any mentions to it.
My guess is different clock speeds, also base air has one gpu core less...
Re:AMD Reveals the Radeon RX 6000 Series, Coming November 18th on Wednesday October 28, 2020 @05:43PM (#24924461)
Which is a terrible name considering they already have a Virtual Super resolution feature (https://www.amd.com/es/support/kb/faq/dh-010)
