Re:Stripe Clinches over $7B Deal to Buy AI Firm OpenRouter on Monday August 17, 2026 @07:08AM (#49329088)
I'm working on a SaaS where you can switch between different OpenRouters on the fly. /s
The word sponsored in inside an SVG element with a linked `use` tag, so it's not that simple.
Re:Stateless MCP has recaptured my interest on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @06:20AM (#49180762)
Its more targeted? Sure I can allow an LLM to access CLI, but then it will try to pipe to other command, write scripts etc. MCP is simply request/response. Its not really that technically different, but the way you and LLMs interact with it allows for easier control. IMHO.
Re:AWS EC2 outage in use1-az4 (us-east-1) on Thursday May 07, 2026 @10:29PM (#48057771)
RDS has just gone down for us.
Re:We Rewrote JSONata with AI in a Day, Saved $500K/Year on Friday March 27, 2026 @03:22AM (#47539877)
If the original released a bunch more features that you wanted why wouldn't you just redo the conversion against the latest version?
Re:LT6502: A 6502-based homebrew laptop on Sunday February 15, 2026 @01:40PM (#47026182)

jQuery UI?
Re:When I say "alphabetical order", I mean "alphabetical order" on Sunday September 28, 2025 @09:53PM (#45409717)
If I wanted to sort by date taken I would do just that using the EXIF data on them.
Re:The Rise of Hybrid PHP: Blending PHP with Go and Rust on Saturday August 30, 2025 @08:10PM (#45079157)
This is one of the best things about PHP IMO. It makes it very easy to scale out.
Re:AI overviews cause massive drop in search clicks on Thursday July 24, 2025 @04:28AM (#44668376)
Why wouldn't I? It takes a few seconds and my thermometer just sits on fridge.

Re:Show HN: I reinvented PHP in TypeScript (demo) on Monday May 19, 2025 @04:56AM (#44027771)
I think this misses one of the main selling points of PHP, the shared nothing, single thread, fire and forget methodology that I can throw behind a load balancer and spin up 100 servers.
Re:Notes on rolling out Cursor and Claude Code on Thursday May 08, 2025 @04:58PM (#43931278)
And the waiting is somewhat frustrating, what am I supposed to do while I wait? I could just sit and watch, or context switch to another task then forget the details on what I was originally doing.
Re:One Million Chessboards on Friday May 02, 2025 @01:27AM (#43866466)
Yea seems the rate limit should be stricter, I made a quick script to do 1 move (capture) every 150ms, doesn't seem to get throttled.

I like how generals.io did it where they explicitly made a bot only server/version.

Re:Claude can now search the web on Thursday March 20, 2025 @11:55PM (#43431652)
It would be nice if I could tell it what page to look at (maybe you can, I am not sure). Often if I am getting an LLM to write some code that I can see is obviously wrong, I would love to say here is the docs ... use that to formulate your response.
Re:Why does man print "gimme gimme gimme" at 00:30? (2017) on Friday October 04, 2024 @05:19AM (#41739462)
Have you never worked for anyone before? The software I make is always expected to do more than what the requirements stated.
Re:Why does man print "gimme gimme gimme" at 00:30? (2017) on Friday October 04, 2024 @05:01AM (#41739332)
I made a website for a goat breading society. It played screaming goat sounds if you typed the Konami code. I was sad the day that site was replaced.
Re:Why does man print "gimme gimme gimme" at 00:30? (2017) on Friday October 04, 2024 @04:56AM (#41739302)

Re:FrankenPHP: Modern PHP App Server on Thursday May 30, 2024 @03:55AM (#40521240)

Re:Static Chess on Tuesday May 14, 2024 @01:11AM (#40351813)
It doesn't even really need to be rendered by a backend. An SPA with pushState and it could literally be just a single file.
Re:JPEG XL and the Pareto Front on Friday March 01, 2024 @05:43AM (#39560529)
My server will encode 1,000,000 images itself, but each client will only decode like 10.
Sed takes ages to remove a single line from huge files too.
Re:Zero Downtime Postgres Upgrades on Wednesday December 13, 2023 @03:12AM (#38624136)
15 minutes to migrate a large DB? It takes days just to run an alter column on our DB.

Or like not being able to delete a user without running some SQL:

https://github.com/apache/superset/issues/13345

Almost instantly run into this issue setting up a test instance of Superset. And the issue has been around for years.
